If they had tried to get +sayf -boaster we could have had an actual dynasty. Vitality is popping off and imagine if fnatic had sayf:
Imagine Derke, Alfa, Leo, Chron, Sayf It would be an upgrade over the current vitality roster (Leo situation would have been weird but its hindsight)
Traditional igls are no more and this is being proven with fns, boaster and ange1, fnatic was too stubborn to let go of it and now they might be in a situation where their best players are looking for a way out instead of potentially having the best ever roster with sayf. This is all speculation that sayf would've joined but in all likeliness fnatic could have acquired him at some point if they had tried.

that's fair, but at least for me when you watch IGLs who can actually win duels. it helps the team immensely. Don't get me wrong I still think Boaster is a better player than FNS, but look at a guy like johnqt, he can still shoot and make plays. it's just a better overall package when trying to win.
Another thing I wanted to add - people can use the excuse/reason of, "we don't need everyone to frag as long as people play their roles" but at the end of the day the game has evolved where if both teams are equally matched, the people winning fights/trades/clutches are the ones that will win the match.
if you asked me the outcome of 5 average shooters with decent strats vs 5 excellent shooters with average strats, the better shooters will almost always come out on top unless they lack teamwork and synergy together.
yeah but you could just have boaster try not IGL as much and let some others second call and do midrounding and let him focus on aim than get an unproven IGL in sayf bcos he was unproven at that point. hes a great player but it doesnt mean much if youre trying to bring them in for IGL roles. sayf was probably always staying with VIT even if they didnt do as big of an upgrade as they did. love both teams tho
The answer to this is simple, no one knew what sayf was capable of until the start of kickoff, no one was going to take the risk of letting a world-class duelist play a role that knocks you in the head trying to frag, call, and discipline throughout an entire game for their team, like who does that? (VIT did, but that's different bc they've had sayf for a while now and knew what he could do)
