no , in Thailand every men when they turned 20 basically have to take a gamble box 50%-50% chance of getting draft , there are 2 cards black and red if you got black youre free , if you got red youre cooked for 2 years , sound ridiculous way for one's life right ?
but to avoid taking a risk you can just study military at like 16 - 20for 3 years to avoid it

Is it easy to avoid it? I used to always hear it's like too hard or impossible to avoid it in Korea or Singapore unless you have some sort of medical problem or you won Olympic medal or gold in asian games. Don't know about Thailand.
