Can we talk about the downfall of Fnatic, as a big supporter of them i want to know how they have managed to be looking so bad rn. obvs the game against bbl recently was a big throw but is there still hope for then this year??
I think the days of contending for titles is over, at least until Leo comes back
The goal until Leo comes back should just be to develop Kaajak and maybe qualify for internationals to give him experience. If Kaajak is able to fulfil his potential by the time Leo comes back then we'll be back in business. But for now I think Kaajak has a lot to work on
i mean idk about crashies, the leo thing was outside of their control and they need time to form some chemistry
but fumbling Derke was so stupid, kaajak isnt bad by any means but why sacrifice team chemistry and one of the best duelists in emea for an unproven rookie, without mentioning it gives him away to any team with some money and a good team (in these case vitality made a ''super team'' with derke)
It costs more money to re-sign players like derke (after his individual performance last season esp.), yay (post-2022 season), and others with a proven track record, than signing a promising talent from T2.
I'd guess that signing kaajak from apeks was still cheaper than re-signing derke. eSports players have relatively short careers on average, I honestly would encourage all of them to go for that bag if they aren't big on streaming, going to events, et cetera.
they didnt look bad, thats an overreaction
they just didnt look top 3 emea anymore and thats ok, we lost our 2 most consistent players in leo and derke and now rely heavily on alfa who has started flexing and playing more inconsistent because of it, the team isnt finished and should improve more and more as alfa gets more used to each new agent hes picked up but it is a pretty big hit to consistency with fragging that used to be pretty much the best in the world
we also rely really heavily on kajaak improving his entry fragging, he is pretty good outside of entry on yoru but when he is entrying he loses much more often than he wins and it just isnt good enough compared to how consistent derke was with entry on yoru, kind of why the yoru stuff worked last year for the team
they look maybe top 5/6 now, I would probably put them in line with how we saw GM8
Idk, I think they looked very good on Fracture but they had one of the worst attack halves I've ever seen on Abyss and they made zero adaptions on their defence on Split. They still have a high ceiling but it feels like most of the time they're not reaching it
Deffo doesn't help that they've taken such a downgrade in fragging, with Derke leaving, Leo still absent and Alfajer not playing the roles he was thriving on in 2023
