maybe a hot take, but EDG´s run in champs last year was one big upset, considering their performanca at Madrid and Shangai

they are doomed to be ass, after 3ys or so of franchasing they have made playoffs only once (where they bombed out 1-2) and have been the worst team of americas every single year
therefore, not a single player nor prospect will want to go there when they have better options (remember that pancada faked an illness to not play there lmfao)
and this year they had on paper a team with good players and are still the worst team by far in the region.
you cant fix a team if no one wants to go there, FURIA is doomed to relegation

They are trapped in a circle of getting relegated and then winning in premiere bc they have real infraestructure over the other premiere teams, while having no reason to leave gc, efectively defeats the entire point of gc in the first place
the sad part is that they could have the potential to be a competitive team in t2, but that would not only making changes to the roster but also abandon gc (which is their main source of money bc t2 isnt profitable at all) also they could play blindfolded and still stomp in gc (at least na) so no way they leave to prioritize t2
this is extremly sad since i believe the reason for gc is to be an opening for marginalised genders to make their way into t2 and eventually t1, but since gc is extremly profitable while t2 is the exact opposite, there is no reason to do that, meaning that only EXTREMLY cracked players MAY get a chance at playing in higher levels, while there will likely, never be (or at least until they find a solution for t2 and gc structural problems) a gc team succesfully ascending from gc to t2, let alone into t1(also forgot to mention that there is no actual incentive to pick gc players over a t2 player that has proven himself in his tier, also adding the already existing dificulties owmen and other marginalized communities have on getting picked)
not mentioning the fact that we might be losing on seeing some prospects on premier/t3 bc of this cycle (altough that is pure suppositions and is unlickley, i think)
maybe im too pessimistic about it but that is my take, its sad bc i would really like to see gc teams and players succeding in t2 and then t1 (and also for t2 no to die lmao) also sorry for bad english or any grammatical errors

i think is common in every team (and life in general) where there is a really toxic structure or is composed by poeple with toxic traits, since it just means putting all the blame into someone to not admit your own responsability, in this case the rookie got all the blame since he was underperforming, is further incentiviced if the person being blamed is an introverted and/or doesnt speak up.
T1 case is recently the most notorious case recently bc it got to the point of affecting their comps, but im pretty sure it also happens in other teams, only that it happens where the public eye doesnt reach
such a shame since sylvian wasnt even a bad player and he had to go trough a lot in his first year t1 competition, i really hope he can bounce back
EDIT: also i dont think its exclusive to Korea, but since they have a very work focused culture, these cases are common and accepted by the people living there (which might be a reson why they didnt cut the comment on sylvian by players and coach), but i dont know that much about korean culture in esports tho

seeing it from a ORG view you have to options in t2:
-Invest a LOT of money in players and infraestructure to get a CHANCE to ascending to t1, and if they dont achieve it all that money goes to waste (without mentioning that some orgs that run most sucsefull teams in other games migth just pull out midseason to save money, since they arent getting any substancial gain)
OR
-Pick up however wins ascension
This means that most of the big orgs outside of VAL t1 wont invest any money and just focus on their other esports, MAYBE getting in once they pick up a winning team from ascension, as a consecuences, effectively making it extremly hard for players to live from t2 and even make a name from themseleves, specially in minor regions of t2 , even if riot fixes some of the issues of t2, the core issue remains that
is way cheaper to buy a winning team and get a ticket to t1, rather than spend a full year grinding a losing money just to maybe get it
