I instalock smokes 80% of the time bc I can’t trust teammates to know how to use util for teammates or have correct smokes. In that case there is a high chance we don’t have an initiator or a sentinel with trip

i disagree with this
people instalock because they deem themselves best for the role and confident, they take their role because they are unable to play other roles
if ur not going to instalock and u lock in a 3rd duelist when u need smokes thats just retarted as fuck and braindead
if ppl locked in 5 duelists coincidentally thats just unlucky
instalocking jett on ascent then flaming a guy for locking in yoru when u dont have smokes is perfectly fine
if ur not fast enough to lock ur own role then i guess ur stuck with filling, thats just how the game works

if ur not going to instalock and not fill then u dont deserve the elo and dont deserve to win
most duelist instalockers would fill if they knew how braindead their team is to lock 3 or 4 duelists toghether instead of picking smokes

lets say i suck at smokes and im good at duelist im obviously going to lock my duelist so i dont have to end up playing smokes and throwing the absolutely most dogshit smokes known to man
