it is obvious gc teams are very behind tier 2 teams. instead of waiting years for the scene to improve, we should be encouraging individual gc players to play on tier 2 teams
a lot of gc players can frag just as well as their male counterparts whether it be in these spotlight tournaments or radiant ranked (not as important but if you're able to do well in the top lobbies then you have tier 2/3 potential). i geniunely think if players like dodonut or srn join some random tier 2 team (maybe as a sentinel instead of duelist) then they would do perfectly fine

T2 is so volatile. Gc u make more money in a better space.

why would you ever risk going to tier 2 where your salaries are low and prize money is few and far between when you can farm 3x that in GC?

yeah, if t2 was more stable we'd see more gc players in t2 imo

The problem is that all GC teams would lose to a team like Galorys. They wouldn't be able to compete for the title and thus wouldn't receive any attention. Except for a few rare GC players.

problem is that a stable tier 2 scene with franchising is impossible, it would require semi-franchising (like ESL and their CS Louvre Agreement), but that goes against what franchising is

Some GC players will go to T2, but if you're on a top team in GC there is literally 0 incentive to go to a mixed T2 roster. This is partly why the only people that have gone to mixed teams have been people cut from the orgs in GC.

Flor going to apeks demonstrates that even if you never compete on a mixed T2 team, if you're good enough in GC a team might pick you up.

Knowing that precedent exists, I would only ever go from GC to T2 if I thought it was the only way I could improve, and even then financial considerations would be a heavy factor to weigh that against.

GC players get gatekept by unpaid T3 pugstacks whenever they try to qual. T2 being more stable wouldn't change that.

yeah thats my point. gc teams are clearly not good enough against teams like galorys (who is literally a top tier 2 team anyways) but there are individual gc players who can do well on worse tier 2 teams. srN would do fine on a worse brazilian tier 2 team if they had better teammates

Yeah bridging the gap between GC and coed rosters is an awkward thing.
The way GC works promotes the top players sticking together long-term.

I would actually like riot to experiment running some small coed cashcups throughout the season for the T2/t3 scene. Similar to the spotlight series, but less of a showcase and more of a grassroots thing.

I more meant individuals bc I dont think a full gc team will qual

(maybe as a sentinel instead of duelist).

honestly they could run a team heretics esq style(if the duelist they pick up isn't doing too well) of sending there duelist to die so they can save util and keep the site
