Why do people hate single elimination

In valorant, we have the same playoffs format which is double elim for both masters and champs , i think you could keep double elim in champs but switch up a little bit in masters making it like Top 8 teams in a single elimination BO5 format just like how worlds does, i don't even know why people cry over single elimination format cause if u can't perform when the moment needs you to and want to say it's too punishing of a format, then you don't deserve the crown of the best team imo.

This format prevents multiple matches for being played in a day, assuming it uses a single stream. This would drag out the length of masters events in an already cramped schedule.

Yes obviously but masters playoffs will almost in normal double elimination almost takes same time ( Shanghai) like maybe put the two games in one day for the first two days and then give a day break for each day not too bad u know? Atleast gives a different feel of watching rather then the same double elim

Explain? Also keeping champs in double elim, watching too much double elim gets boring plus single elimination BO5 is best test as tests map pool of teams endurance , mental and the ability to perform at that moment

If groups were also single elimination, NRG would've only lost 0-2 to BLG. Would you rather live in a world where NRG get 0-2'd or 0-4'd?

True, well we actually got lucky that NRG were having internal problems and our duelist whzy had a life game. I think most of our clutch were lucky too like when our viper Yosemite killed both of them while blinded by the wall. But we are happy that we 0-4’d a great team like NRG and because of that we have an accomplishment in our vct career as a team. Without that incident we would just be nothing and considered a trash team.

No that's the point people say single elimination provides opportunity for fluke but that's where the BO5 comes in, bad team can't fluke a BO5 but can fluke a BO3 because a bad team won't have that good of a map pool or won't have that much endurance, stamina or mental to play a complete BO5

if they did then they wouldnt even be considered a top 2023 team (people used their 4th in masters to say they still did good despite champs) so ye, its better anyways :nerd:

Nah if the upper finals was a BO5, PRX woulda cleared them that day. EG only learned to play against them after losing to them
