I feel like 2023 and 2022 were more entertaining than 2024 for some reason, prolly just because the lans were not in my time zone
The Shanghai grands and lower finals and top 4 at champs were amazing but comparatively 2022 and 2023 felt way more engaging the whole way through comparatively

Lock-in kinda underrated tbh

Fnatic, loud, prx, nrg, and edg were super fun to watch as well

Loved 2024 cause edg story line might be biased but madrid sen was hype

honestly i think the meta was better. gekko meta was too exec-based and neon meta is better but too confusing and "lucky" sometimes. 2022 and 2023 had perfect balance of more diversity and creative plays but less overwhelming

Madrid wasn’t as entertaining for me other than grands, and some of the matches at champs and Shanghai were great but in 2023 and 2022 nearly every match or every other intl match felt hype

the meta was more creative with chamber and skye because it led teams to be forced to make counters to everything and people could get creative. Now people can still get creative, but it's much harder since the meta is pretty much set in stone and getting creative isn't working anymore like the deadlock or chamber comps on ascent and lotus. The yoru movement is pretty cool though

Also 8 team lan is just criminal like wtf
It’s 2024
We can just have 12 12 16 at least like in 2022

Problem is too many teams dilutes the quality of the matches significantly, any more than 16 is not great imo

Id rather have low quality matches than 5 months of nothing

I watched a good few of them, just didn’t fight them as entertaining apart from the grands and upper finals tbh

Low key should space out the events better and have a more extensive and structure off season would fix a lot

Also I’d rather bring back lcq and have a 11 week Americas stage, I really likes that format in 2023

I feel like franchising ( now that we have gone through its second year) make the "internationals" less alluring, because they are international leagues themselves and you are more prone to watch and know other teams.

For me as a BR, It was exciting having Keyd play against Acend, Vikings face Gambit, and it continued with Loud playing Liquid and G2, Furia facing DRX. Now if I get a Loud x T1 Id know what to expect, i'm familiar with the players because I can watch APAC. Not to mention same region matches are lackluster at internationals, but ppl would get hyped for a Zeta x Drx match if it was pre-franchising.

If more teams that bring in a shit ton of viewership qualify for any international event, this could make valorant have CS numbers of viewership

I see more pros than cons here

The teams this year were very underwhelming compared to other years....this years SEN would get nowhere near a title in other years

PRX vs TH was amazing. One of the most loved teams in the world against the hometown heros
PRX vs KC another 3rd map OT banger
Both were elimination

Sen vs TH - TenZ and Sentinels returns to international stage.
Sen vs LOUD - could've gone either way but sacy saved sentinels.
Sen vs PRX - one of the most anticipated matches of all time.

The 3rd map of th and prx was indeed a banger
I just wasn’t that interested in the others due to monyet rather than jinggg

had a freshness to it + lock in is the greatest tournament there will ever be (30 elimination matches + a final)
