with TenZ retiring, I see quite a lot of people mentioning how he is the goat of the game, and I can see where they are coming from, but he is not the goat, he is the face of the game. And the candidates for goats, names like chronicle or derke or aspas aren't nearly as close to domination as s1mples, devices, fakers, topsons, anas of other gaming titles. It is not a bad thing, but imo it is somewhat lacking in narratives, there is no main character in the scene, the eye of the storm. And it will probably take years for one to emerge

i agree. longevity and consistency are different to me. yay was insanely consistent but not for long for example
derke is insanely consistent for a long time
tenz was on top in very different times but not consistently on top

His CV still isn't that great compared to other players. Sure, valorant is younger, but are we sure that aspas can get the status of faker and s1mple with so few events and such rapid changes in the meta?
