T2 underfunded

question:
Did riot actually set a standard on t2 orgs on how much orgs should pay their players? I had a feeling the standard is too high for orgs to follow.

Is valorant the only esport where communities are complaining about t2 being underfunded? Or csgo has it worse?

The T2 scene back in CSGO days were pretty atrocious when it comes how much they got paid too.
Think they just dont care what happens

Actually, the players might have it good if riot actually set a standard.

But riot definitely fail at marketing it's tier 2

If they are going to do the ascension tournament anyways just do it like the open quals 2021 style. And unban russian teams

The point is, who could be possibly interested in watching sweetnsour vs metizport in polonialow. Just do it in open qual format per region and a point system and give the streamers the right to costream all like cs does.

Lol actually they do win money, but all of that probably gets negated by their high wage expenses 💀

I don’t think so. For starters, not every team has been under an org (ie: ttr), and also there are some collegiate teams in there and int the US it’s illegal to give salaries to student athletes

I guess it comes to the scene itself, jp region does this better than anyone, this is why jp's viewership ( even on just on official twitch and yt already surpasses every t2 scene) is so huge.

Other region's should start leveraging this tbh

csgo is better because there's constantly tournaments for T2 players to play in. Valorant is the opposite where long off seasons make it so there's no point of keeping the roster past the end of the season.

And Riot doesn't care. If Riot allowed T1 orgs to have an academy team, then maybe it'd be a little more stable.

cs has a problem that tier 2 could only break into tier 1 thru the major, other parts of the year they would just grind closed qualifiers ( random most of the time) and CCT and league events. Thankfully, volvo have actually fixed that and shut down franchising, now tier 1 events invite top ranking teams, not those who pay money

As in Academy teams being allowed to play in T2? that's just unfair for other t2 orgs.

That makes sense actually. I think the problem is in both the org( financially)and riot ( system)💀

Partnership is not good for T2. there just isn't enough to play for when there is only one event that actually matters once a year. Orgs should just wait until teams ascend to invest. I know Riot doesn't allow this but why risk paying player and team salaries for a year when the chances are so low? more orgs will drop teams in T2 its just not worth it.

well the big problem with t2 tourneys is with the viewers.

Theres only so much riot can do when no one gives 2 shits about unofficial t2/t3 tournaments
Vlr being horrible with showing these games doesnt help either since you gotta actually follow a scene to know theres a tourney going on

https://www.twitch.tv/evctournaments heres one live rn (grand finals) for Polaris and theyre at 60 viewers
We dont have the same luxury as cs where theres gambling money being thrown at any TO, allowing them to build viewers over time

Hosting tourneys is expensive af and 100 viewers just isnt gonna cut it
