Everyone putting DRX so high in rankings, but I refuse to put them anything above top 6 cuz of these fucks falling of a cliff after groups every single dam tourney. Like they don't get owned but something ticks in them to make small mistakes which just causes them to barely miss out on closing a map. What has changed within their mental that makes ppl think they will make a deep run?

if memory serves me right they lost to PRX in iceland after winning the first game against them, uhhh im gonna guess they played 6th/5th in coppenhagen, and Istanbul was the one time i think they managed to make top 3 and then lost to optic. But its pretty normal for them to do insane in groups and then bomb out in playoffs.

drx never lost to prx pre-franchise, in Iceland sf it was optic who sent them to lower bracket where they got eliminated by zeta.

Exactly, like why can't some people realize this roster has the potential to be great?

When did they fall off a cliff at champs after they got out of groups

In tokyo, their group was ass and they snuck into playoffs then got smacked
Champs 22 was amazing
Champs 23 they got a hardish group, then played well against loud, before eventually losing to 2023 fnatic (valid) and the eventual winners of the entire tourney, eg which were the top 2 teams of the entire year

Where did they fall off?

okay maybe fall of a cliff was a exaggeration but as i said ". Like they don't get owned but something ticks in them to make small mistakes which just causes them to barely miss out on closing a map. " Ik they dropped 3/5 of their players, but other then the reverse sweep on a burnt out prx their mental hasnt been tested. Thats always been their weakspot.

The way DRX lost to FNC in 2023 is kind of fraudulent

They have home field advantage AND they beat fnatic. They have a good chance at winning the whole damn thing
Reading that back I actually disagree with myself

I mean they did beat FNC who a lot of people were considering the favorites heading in… I mean honestly they’re the 3rd best out of the 1st seeds no glaze so 3rd could be a good place for them

i think its that DRX winning something is such an alien thought to us given that they are the ultimate chokers. they have switched up the team though, and mako is only looking more and more comfortable as the igl. DRX also has flashback, who never fails to perform in a series, even if it is a bit. so if international LAN mako continues through playoffs, they have a very good chance even if buzz or foxy9 choke or something.

all the stuff you mentioned is about the former roster and DRX was great in champs 2022, and even in 2023, where DRX looked shaky the whole season did better than what most people expected. Its a new roster now so you just gotta watch.
1 player made his very first debut in Pro scene, 1 player made his first debut in tier 1, and foxy got his new role after being a sixth member.
This roster is already doing better considering 3 inexperienced players being in the team.
