After nearly four seasons, Nicolas "Klaus" Ferrari has announced his free agency. He was a part of the KRÜ Esports KRÜ Esports Latin America South Rank #3 keznit Angelo Mori mta Nicolás González Shyy Fabian Usnayo Melser Marco Eliot Machuca Amaro team that finished in the semifinals of Valorant Champions 2021, and finished third in VCT: Americas Stage 2.

“Today was my last day at @KRUesports. Really grateful with what I lived with them and all the teammates that I had throughout this years,” he said in his X post.

Klaus was with KRU since 2021, and was one of the last remaining Americas players to remain on the same organization since the beginning of VCT. The former Overwatch player, who represented his home nation of Argentina in the 2017 Overwatch World Cup, will be a free agent in the pro Valorant scene for the first time.

The 2024 season was a rocky one for Klaus, who is most well-known for his play on Viper and Cypher. It began with major roster turnover in March due to teammate mta 's injury. As a result, he returned to the team's in-game leader role. He had been inactive since July, when the team decided to bench Klaus and reactivate mta.

Stage 2 would see his performance dip as the IGL, as he finished with a rating of 0.70 and 0.43 KPR, the lowest among all players in the stage.

With Klaus as the team's IGL this year, KRU Esports finished the group stage of Stage 1 with a 5-1 record and the top seed in their group, but would bow out of the playoffs with two straight losses and miss out on Masters Shanghai.

The news of Klaus's contract expiration comes a day before the team takes on DRX at Champions Seoul.
