It’s next year, but as far as I understand qualifying for champs has nothing to do with it, what you have to do is place higher than the other Acsension team

Yes, I see, what I said it's still correct tho. Making champs = retaining the slot, BUT, only as long as the other ascension team doesn't place higher than you. So you have to make champs AND place higher than the other Ascension team

The part I see I was missing is, if you place higher than the other team but don't make champs you're out anyway

Well I understand why they do that, it would make no sense if tier 2 couldn't ascend just because the current 2 teams did well. But yes the system is probably flawed anyway

Full thing is if they make champs you qualify for next season unless you both do then whoever gets placed higher makes it. If you make playoffs but not champs you get to defend your spot at ascension (also if you make champs but do worse in than other ascension team.) and finally if you don’t make champs you are relegated back to T2. This is for 2025 and on.
