Less likely for Cinderella teams to win
Upper bracket games feel less suspenseful (Because even if they lose they’re not out)
For many matches in the lower bracket, one team has more time to prepare than the other
So many games takes away the gravity of each one

Ik.riot wants that ad money but please have single elim format for champs playoffs 🙏

plus FNCs run in 2023 is still the greatest run in valo history and the only team to beat them was loud. they destroyed your PRX and even EG.

Yep single elim is best. I never see people in cs crying about single elim for every tournament but Valorant fans lost their mind when they saw lock in playoffs and you see them now crying about Apac ascension 😂 like chill if you’re the better team you will win. Losers don’t deserve second chance…

The problem with single elim for qualification is that you never find the truely best teams. Bc if 2 teams qualify and the two best Teams play eachother in semi finals there is no chance they qualify. Many for example considert NAVI ane heretics in the first spit one of the best teams but they played eachouther in single elim so one was already out.

I just want single elim for International tournament playoffs. I don’t mind double elim in regionals but yeah they should keep it consistent, they shouldn’t have the first 2 games single elim. Either make the whole playoffs single elim or double.

cs has like 10 s tier tournaments each year, valorant has 3 😭 majors have 24 teams with 3 loss swiss stage, kato and cologne have 24 teams as well.. when val has that then we can have single elim

I like it because it’s better for the overall placements, let’s say one team meets one of the strongest team in the event and got eliminated in a single-elim format, they don’t get the chance to play with other teams from another group so you can’t technically say that they are inferior to the others.
So its better to have another chance to prove themselves.
At the end of the day, if they are champion material, they will make it thru all the way.

No, Cinderella runs are unaffected, mickey mouse runs are just impossible. For example Zeta at Reykjavic and EG at Tokyo were both cinderella runs (Double Elim) .
In single Elim, we had Karmine Corp (like the worst t1 team ever, by far) look promising vs LOUD and Furia be competitive vs Fnatic. These are mickey-mouse performances that double elim (and a qualifier) would have prevented from affecting the result, should those games have gone the other way.

Extremely marginal issue, far outweighed by the benefits of double elim.

Erm... No it doesnt??? Literally just more to watch?? It's not like the stakes/importance of one match is decreased by another equally important match being scheduled 30 mins later.

double elim guarantees better ranking... top 8, top 6, top 4, 3, 2, champion instead of single elims top 8, top 4, 2, 1 so better reward distribution
