10 Scenario Rumors about rebuild ZETA (not leak)

Some of the stories I feel are mere speculation, but given the current state of ZETA this year, some of them seem credible

1.There had been talk that ZETA would rebuild its roster if it did not do better than the 2023 season, but the loss to DFM seems to have made the rebuild definitive. This would be a larger rebuild than the 2021-22 season.

2.Laz, hiroronn, and Yuran are released, leaving only SugarZ3ro and Dep on the team; SugarZ3ro will play a full-fledged IGL role; Dep will play as a flex, not a duelist. (Dep has a very large agent pool, and he himself would prefer flex as long as there are other good duelists). Three targets for reinforcement are duelist, sentinel and main initiator.

3.Laz is highly likely to retire. He's previously mentioned retiring once he's no longer needed by the team and expressed no interest in moving to another team in YouTube videos. He also has no intention of becoming a streamer or coach and will likely pursue a different path in real life.

4.They are aiming to acquire Meiy (DFM) as a duelist, but DFM is unlikely to let him go. Therefore, Absol (MRSH) appears to be their top choice. Though just turned 18 this year, he's one of the top duelists in Japan's tier 2 scene. The question is whether MRSH's owner (Junichi Kato) will allow his release. If they fail to secure Absol, SyouTa (FL) is their second choice, though he's undecided between continuing as a pro or retiring.

5.Yatsuka (RID) is rumored to fill the vacant sentinel position left by Laz's retirement, given his past affiliation with ZETA Academy unless RID wins Ascension.

6.Xdll (FL), CLZ (FL), NOBITA (SG), and Caedye (RID) are options as initiators. To be honest, all four are not attractive options; Xdll has experience for his age, but is greatly underperforming in Split2 and has concerns about his behavior; CLZ's experience as IGL will help SugarZ3ro, but he is not as good as Sauva and Fayed; and Caedye is not as good as RID, but he is not as good as RID. Caedye is young but has not yet reached its full potential at present; given the failures of hiroronn and Yuran, it is a risky move. If they cannot get a good initiator, they may even get Aace as a smoke and SugarZ3ro, who is responsible for IGL, may turn initiator. A slight possibility, but also a scenario where Reita (MRSH) returns to ZETA, since Laz is out and there are no veterans.

7.They are considering actively recruiting foreign players, previously staunchly opposed, as long as there are no communication issues. Two listed options are half-Japanese Yotaa (SZ) and Yoshii (SZ). Yotaa becomes an option if Meiy, Absol, or SyouTa aren't acquired. Yoshii is a choice between sentinel and second duelist, competing with Yatsuka.

8.If SugarZ3ro's IGL doesn't work, Kr1stal (ex-SZ) is also an option. He is smart as an IGL, strong in shootouts, and can handle the initiator role, which is ZETA's biggest problem. Another candidate is vici (ex-SG), who was on the same team as Something, but he lacks credibility.

9.They seem committed to also bringing in Fadezis (SZ) and Toraneco (ex-SZ, now caster) as staff if they intensify efforts to recruit foreign players. Toraneco, fluent in English despite being Japanese, has close ties with Yoshii and Kr1stal, bridging Japanese players with foreign players and half-Japanese players, and is noted for his high Vaslorant IQ. Whether as a coach or analyst is unclear, but it will certainly be a positive addition.

10.Carlão will definitely be dropped from his coaching position. He already wants to go back to the BR team (probably FURIA, where he used to be). It is said that former ZETA coach XQ will return, but this is unlikely if Fadezis and Toraneco join the team.

For players in ZETA, it is known that they are subjected to excessive pressure that does not match the reality of the team. So it seems that tier 2 players want to stay with the team even if ZETA offers them a job. If the restructuring is not decisive at an early stage and the players do not give up this season, they risk repeating the same mistakes they made this year in 2025.

Bring in Lob as initiator and Akame as duelist IGL and it will be complete.

Yes. They are Korean, but their Japanese is as good as Japanese. In fact, they communicate only in Japanese during games.

JP fans might not like it if their teams always had Koreans in them personally i think it’s unlikely, possible, but unlikely

However, ZETA's OW2 division is a mixed unit of Koreans and Japanese.

I dont think thats an issue. Jp t2 are full of them and none of them are complaining . Meteor and something had a huge following in jp prior going to prx and geng respectively.

This team can do it without Korean players, what japan needs right now is talent autonomy meaning they need to stop relying on imports to do their bidding. Bringing Koreans into the team means a massive stepback for jp region as a whole.

I sincerely hope no.7 never happen ( no weird feelings) ,Zeta picking foreign players will only convince t2 org that they should get more foreign players ( slipery slope I know but considering these organizations, I can see this happening)

Fadezis prefers an English speaking team . So I doubt fadezis would really join zeta. Assuming the rest is true, sugarzero's and dep's english need to be fluent enough to make this possible.

  1. They need to pick up a proper IGL or at least someone who’s willing to do it. Stop throwing the IGL role around to players just cause they have a lot of experience.

  2. I hope they keep a full Japanese roster. I know Japan lacks upcoming talent but I still believe there’s enough talent to build a good full Japanese roster. It’ll be sad if even ZETA stops believing in upcoming Japanese talent.

That is exactly what it is. The Brazilian team ended up having to bring in outside players, even though three of their teams are in the Americas League.

  • Noriaki Suzuki will save JP valorant. But fr, if Laz leave ZETA, their fanbase will drop significantly.
  • These talks about Fadezis, Toraneco, Yota, Yoshii, is interesting cause OG ABSOLUTE roster (Laz, barce, takej, Crow, Reita) does come from SCARZ and I can see similar situation like the CR/DFM merging thing happening to ZETA.
#33
IonlywatchvcjXD

Frags

I don't think zeta is going to merge with scarz. The reason dfm and cr merge is because dfm wanted a new roster and cr should've gotten the spot instead of dfm in the first place, hence the merge.

It's impressive for me that Japan doesn't have a competitive team, meanwhile having one of the hardest and most competent servers in the world.

I'm pretty sure JP has insane talent that could compete in tier 1.

  1. Unlucky.

  2. Honestly, i feel like Yuran and Hiroronn have been thrown to the wolves too early. Maybe they could stay and grow a bit more as subs, but not outright discarded. That being said, I’ve said it before: Dep should’ve been on flex at the beginning of the season and ZETA could’ve gotten someone else on duelist, i.e., Meiy.

  3. Unlucky. Laz has always been one of my favourite players, even during the ABSOLUTE JUPITER days. He is the face of Japanese Valorant, and put the region on the map with his insane performances on Chamber. I wish him luck on his future endeavors.

  4. Absol is good, very good. I do wonder why ZETA seems to rate him higher than SyouTa, who has been popping lately even though FENNEL is having a bad split. Also, i wonder why SyouTa has been having doubts about his career.

  5. Yatsuka has been great for RIDDLE. However, i do feel that Derialy is a better alternative, if he wants to play as he is taking a break from playing this split.

  6. Agreeable, but Xdll is the only best option. Caedye has been good, but, yes, it is still a bit early for him. They can get muto from REJECT as an alternative, but he has been very inconsistent. If ZETA are able to, they should try for Anthem next season.

7/8. As painful as it sounds, I think ZETA should bite the bullet and go for imports. They need a new approach to the game, something new to the table. Yes, they are known for housing homegrown talent, but their structure and development has been ABYSMAL. That being said, Yotaa, Kr1stal, and Yoshii are all great options. They can even branch out and get Koreans like Jinboong, Akame, Wolverine, margaret, DH, HYUNMIN, Francis. There’s a LOT of talent out there and if they want to be the best team, ZETA needs to pick them up, as unfortunate as it sounds for the Japanese scene. Trust me, as a longtime VCJ fan, i feel incredibly conflicted.

  1. Fadezis is a great coaching option. For sure.

  2. I don’t understand how Carlão failed. He was actually decent on FURIA as they made it to champs and had some good performances. A lot of people thought that he would be a fantastic signing but evidently not.

My “dream” roster next season:

Duelist: Absol/Aace/SyouTa
Controller: SugarZero
Sentinel: Yatsuka/Derialy
Initiator: Xdll/Anthem
Flex: Dep

Aace from RIDDLE is a DEMON. He has one of the best raw aim in Challengers currently, and he has experience on duelist.

#61

I disagree , the last thing that jp needs is to get more Koreans into the scene . Zeta bringing in Korean talent will have a big implications to t2 jp as a whole. This will exacerbate jp's import problem to a worse degree.

isn't Meiy's contract expire at the end of 2024? according to VCT database

I know they can renew the contract, but as long as the contract end at this year, we can assume there is no buyout issue

That's from dfm's perspective. Can't say the same thing about meiy. The reason meiy never left cr is bcz he never wanted to 🤣

#70
IonlywatchvcjXD
0
Frags

Fisker has been in jp from the start cmiiw, players like Sato and yotaa never touch jp server so it's hard to count them as jp player.

Also I'm afraid orgs will start to look for half jp players just bcz they're half just to bypass the import quota. This will cause more hardships for jp prospects out there

“The failure of hiroronn” THEY HAVE THIS GUY ON INITIATOR PUT HIM BACK ON SENTINEL especially if they plan to remove Laz anyway! This is literally just the pancada situation where someone underperforms once they have to switch roles for their team and they are immediately considered a failure EVEN though they aren’t even on their preferred role aaaagh it makes me so upset
