legit zero negatives to the map but somehow ascent which is heavily defense sided and has zero comp diversity is above it or even lotus which also has no comp diversity and is just a spam fest on a
split is different to haven where you have to fight to make it 5 lanes. split can be a 3 lane map if you let it become one but haven all the defense can do is make it a 4 lane map by taking A main.
split is much more strategically interesting cause the map punishes teams who are too inactive.
haven is 5 lanes which can become 4 if the defense pushes A but can also be like 6+ if the attack takes space A and garage and B.
if split is defense sided then haven is attack sided.
haven is fun to play only maybe because it is simple and easy
haven is defiantly not easy and yes your right but its still 5 lanes that can be turned into less lanes if you fight for control haven also punishes teams who dont fight for a main that is literally the entire reason breach is played on the map its to get a jett posted on a main so you can over rotate over to the other sites and bro window is not a lane thats like calling mid nest on breeze a lane.
Breeze is actually giga cancer I have no idea how anyone finds literally a single positive in the map. A good 90% of Valorant is totally incompatible with it (every agent except like 7, every gun other than the snipers, guardian and vandal, the entire defense side) and the strategic side of the map is actually more shallow than the stab wound I give myself every time I queue into this embarrassment. Whoever designed the map should be paraded around the streets and publicly humiliated, and should never be allowed within 1km of a keyboard ever again. Having it anywhere other than last genuinely makes me think you're a slitheen
As someone who stopped playing, my rank is more centered in my opinion as a spectator rather than as a player:
- Haven: by far my favorite map due to various comps, different strats, mid is important.
- Bind: love that attackers have a fast rotation thanks to TPs
- Lotus: a heavily attack-sided map, fun retakes, unlike Haven there are fewer ways into the sites, so the 3 sites feel different. Plus, the comebacks are exciting.
- Fracture: I love how fast you can farm ults. It allows a fast paced map that requires coordination.
- Split: Kind of a love/hate relationship. It is usually a defense-sided map, but when it is not, attackers dominate it (look at Shanghai, 61% Attack WR)
- Sunset: Hey guys, let's go B and hide in main.
- Pearl: Read Sunset.
- Breeze: I still suffer since they took a map that I loved out of rotation and then murdered it.
- Ascent: Always the same comp. The map is too repetitive.
- Abyss (haven't watched/played enough, so it will probably change): Feels like Icebox, constant executes and post-plant. Mid doesn't exist.
