language barrier

people and even sen will deny it themselves but the language barrier for the brazilians is a real struggle and is holding the team back.

sen has AMAZING world class players no doubt , we all know that. but it’s so evident pancada is not comfortable playing in a second language. he’s near damn mute in comms.

when sacy and pancada are the last two alive and code switch to portuguese, magic happens.

sentinels really should’ve kept marved for smokes and found a replacement scan initiator and john as senti igl.

You dont learn to be fluent in a year all while competing at the HIGHEST level of pro-play

probably :/ in the entire history of esports I don't know of any team composed by Brazilians and people outside of South America that has been successful

all esports should move to english anyways allows for the best possible teams to be created -

although i do love the concept of rosters with just national pride in regions like LATAM they are inherently disadvantaged because of a spanish player bias - whereas if LEV could attract english speakers from NA and BR (they have) they're better off talent wise even if it would take longer to become coherent

Its so funny how you people pretend to know everything thats happening on the inside despite having literally 0 actual inside information. You have no idea what their problem is, its very possible that the language barrier is the problem but also Sacy is 100% fluent in English itr isnt a problem for him at all

Sacy's? lmao are you joking? Watch his streams or any content that Sentinels put out hes fluent. The PlatChat guys have also mentioned how they have spoken to him and his English was flawless

Only fans really buy into the language barrier excuse to be the reason of all problems. Me who i also watch league and sees teams winning world championship with people who talk different languages is not buying that.

EMEA is not a good argument
The players HAVE to comm in english or else there is no scene, europe also has a much higher english literacy rate. while LATAM and BR dont, you can walk the streets of brazil, see a thousand different people, and only one of them will speak english at all.
EMEA and BR/LATAM are completely different places

We've had players coming out of tier 2 in EMEA who could barely put 2 sentences together and they have been great. Specially remember it with Alfajer and cned when they first came out. That's an awful excuse to justify being mediocre

Correct me if I’m wrong but I would imagine it is much easier for EU players from different countries to communicate with each other.

How so? Sure they com in English in ranked, so you know the calls but that is about it. Many players have no clue on how to elaborate on their ideas and put together a complex sentence that actually makes sense, and if they do, they definitely do not have the mental quickness to do it fast enough.

Plus living in the US for 2/3 months while practicing everyday teaches you way more English than what 5 years of ranked will. So no, just an awful excuse

So you are telling me team(fnatic) of British, Turkish, Swedish, Finnish and Russian has easier time communicating to each other than team mix of American/Canadan and Brazilian?

Yes, since Fnatic's mix of players, entered the scene NEEDING to speak english, while BR/LATAM players can go their entire careers not even needing to learn spanish most of the time
