after playoffs a lot of people are shitting on fnatic and drx. to be fair, fnatic and drx were both playing terribly during the grand finals.
would it be an overreaction to say that both teams are getting worse, or do yall think they'll still perform just as good as they used to during Tokyo?

Riot has done this for all international LANS with this format:
Americas#1 and EMEA#1 are the #1 seeds of playoffs (meaning they will play the #2 seeds from the groups (ezier match-up))
Pacific#1 and SA#1 (now EMEA#2) are the #2 seeds of playoffs (meaning they will play the #1 seeds from the groups (harder match-up))
I understand, but the point is that for that to matter, all of these have to happen:

the best team gets 1st seed in group (which if we look at the last tourney with this format, 2022 Copenhagen, 1st and 3rd overall came second in their group

You lose the match against the 1st seed group team

and finally that you would've gotten to the finals without losing a single series if you had won 1st seed (because if you lost one you go to lowers and play the exact same amount of matches regardless of if you lose early on or later)
It's effectively a showmatch
theres still like 10 days to go for both teams to fix stuff and we have seen how teams can get on track in a week during the league. its a nice wake up call for both teams, altho i heard that it wasn't drx's starting now and they will play foxy in tokyo (idk why they didnt play him in pacific finals then).
we have seen seeding become irrelevant if teams work hard before lans and stay composed on lan so losing in regionals doesn't matter too much (remember 2022 optic lost all regional finals)
Chronicle, the #2 rated player in EMEA up until finals, was -30 or so. That was clearly a once in a blue moon match for him, and Derke was also getting diffed hard by Sayf, which won't consistently happen either. If all of them play like they were on average, i.e. Chronicle #2 EMEA, Derke #1/#2 duelist EMEA, I can see FNC running through a lot of teams
Yeah that’s similar to what happened to fnatic at lock-in the single elim wasn’t the problem it was the schedule it gave an overwhelming advantage to teams in the alpha bracket over omega bracket because fnatic was forced to play 5 matches in 7 days in a what is supposed to be a fair tournament loud got much more rest not to mention the teams fnatic played were sentinels a team everyone had high hopes for as wel as 100 thieves same expectations, a very good furia side who were thriving off of the crowd and then the most ridiculous thing despite loud and drx having a much longer rest they got to ply their series and then fnatic and na I had to play each other then the winner had to play loud in the finals famtic literally had the hardest schedule possible considering the amount of rest they got in between each series and their opponents they literally played furia then 100 thieves in 2 days and that was 1 of 2 times they played 2 games in 2 days that tournament as just with 1 day of rest after that they played navi then loud that was the reason why fnatic were struggling in that final they were mentally drained by that 3rd
People overreact over Fnatic's loss super hard right now. People act like they dropped below multiple teams by losing one game while they would still be favored against any team outside of LOUD which would be pretty 50/50.
DRX underrating is bit more understandable IMO because they haven't looked as dominant and bit shaky at times, and even in the past they have never won anything and best achivement was top 3.
