There is so much fucking talent in tier 2 and even tier 3 across all regions. Unfortunately, franchising has limited the number of players who are good enough or have high potential to play in franchising.
kskm [#2]those kids choked under pressure though... lost when it mattered + lost when they were no longer underdogs
tbh this is the furthest jakee/runi have reached in their val careers and its only started and theyve already done great...

They also never even qualified to a VCT challengers' event before getting picked up by C9. How do you expected them to have ice when they never even got the chance to experience high stakes with real pressure.

bro acts like a good team is supposed to be unbeatable. c9 solidified themselves as one of the best teams. they just happened to lose to better teams. it's called being a professional player.

i’m gonna cry. i was rooting for them. it was so close. tokyo was one OT away. i feel so bad for the newbies.

Idk why the other comments are acting like this is a controversial take lol. Zellsis even said in his interview that they were having a harder time with the pressure. They did great, but the more seasoned teams have experience dealing with the pressure that comes with playoffs and international tournaments.

i dont get it either its not a hot take - i am not discounting the fact that C9 is a great team, NRG handled pressure better

i am not discounting their effort and I am sure jakee/runi might even win it next time they are in such a situation - but they wont be rookies anymore though.
