why would u kick low during penalties? explain pls i dont watch football
capital_d_colon [#6]Cause it's easier.
And more reliable
if u kick low he can slide and block more but its not possible to slide in the air thats what i think
simza [#11]its better to try to send the goalkeeper into wrong corner
its riskier to kick high into corners
riskier means u miss more?

players are super tired and nervous, they don't wanna overkick the ball and risk losing like that

its also not that important if you kick high or not
75% of your penalty is psychology / sending goalkeeper into wrong corner
acels1 [#16]what if u practice shooting top left every day
Then they’ll now you always kick em the same way
Mortadelo [#19]Then they’ll now you always kick em the same way
but its still hard af to block a top left shot, u gotta jump and time it, no?

Their penalties usually go to the top corners then. But when you have 5 players who don’t usually take penalties, you can’t expect that quality from them

If it's a really accurately shot sure, but it's any little mistake is gonna make it hit the post and with those amounts of pressure sometimes it's just better to go low cause even if it's pretty much as hard if you are accurate enough plus have the chance of the keeper going the other way

so is penalty 100 % anticipation or is it possible to react after he shoots?
acels1 [#23]so is penalty 100 % anticipation or is it possible to react after he shoots?
50-50 I'd say but only the goat goalkeepers can react instantly to save the kicks
acels1 [#23]so is penalty 100 % anticipation or is it possible to react after he shoots?
at low/mid level you can often see where they will shoot based on how they position their leg etc.
at high level mostly anticipation, since good players can hide where they want to shoot
reacting to shots only works if enemy player is really bad lol
To perform a good penalty kick, follow these steps:
Approach the ball: Before kicking the ball, approach it at a steady pace and plant your non-kicking foot beside the ball.
Aim: Look at the goal and pick a spot to aim for. This could be the corner of the goal, the center of the goal, or somewhere else.
Strike: Using the inside of your kicking foot, strike the ball with a smooth, fluid motion. Follow through with your kicking leg after making contact with the ball.
Body position: Keep your body relaxed and balanced during the kick. Your hips, shoulders, and head should be aligned, and your weight should be evenly distributed on both feet.
Finish: After striking the ball, follow through with your kicking leg and watch the ball as it goes towards the goal. This can help you adjust your aim if necessary.
It's important to practice the technique and aim of your penalty kick in order to improve your accuracy and power. With enough practice, you can become a skilled penalty kick taker.

alot of it is reading body movement.
jorginho does it well, but now keepers are changing their movements to trick them.
