Sayaplayer, a storied Overwatch player, made his Valorant debut in 2021 on T1 under the alias Spyder. During his tenure as a Controller, the squad secured middling finishes, reaching the top six at every Challengers event but failing to make a Masters appearance. Before 2022, Sayaplayer left T1 to join The Guard The Guard Inactive JonahP Jonah Pulice trent Trent Cairns neT Michael Bernet valyn Jacob Batio tex Ian Botsch as their main Duelist. The squad quickly rose up in the North American hierarchy, finishing first in Stage 1: Challengers. The Guard got their first taste of international competition at Masters: Reykjavik, where they finished in the top eight. In Stage 2, the roster failed to exit the group stages but secured enough points to be in the North America Last Chance Qualifier. There, they would run through the bracket all the way to the grand finals but unfortunately missed out on Champions after they came in second place.
A consistent presence at the top of APAC Radiant leaderboards, BeomJun joins T1 despite having no prior history in professional Valorant. According to sources, the rookie outperformed other experienced candidates in scrims to secure his spot in the team. However, the organization plans to sign another player and move BeomJun as a sixth man, per head coach Yoon "Autumn" Eu-ddeum (윤으뜸).
After a tumultuous 2021, T1 found little success in VCT 2022, failing to make it out of the open qualifiers for Stage 1 and 2 Challengers. As a result, the organization completed a swap package deal with Cloud9, as they signed Xeta and head coach Autumn for Rahul "curry" Nemani. T1 later added Munchkin and ban from Crazy Raccoon and Knights respectively. Following their inclusion in the Pacific partnership league, T1 began their rebuild and parted ways with in-game leader Joshua "steel" Nissan and Zander "thwifo" Kim.
T1 are set to compete in the Kick-off tournament in February, where all 30 partnership teams will debut their rosters heading into VCT 2023.
