That the CSGO only fanboys are so concerned about Valorant surpassing CS is because it already happened.
Dota came first, but League of Legends surpassed it and then became the biggest esport in the world.

Just like Dota, CS is both owned by Valve and came first
Riot is now threatening Valve with a second game and the CS boys are scared that Riot will once again surpass Valve.

if you count the world skins I think the prizepool should be comparable, I've read an article that skin sale shares that given to the players could reach 10mil+ and cs also do the same thing with their capsule stickers, but it's not as lucrative as the worlds skins in LoL

worlds skins is only for the winner lol, so only 5 players on the winning team get that money, so more or less the same when you compare them to the winners of TI

and League pros made significantly higher than the dota pros, they have higher salary + sponsorship for just playing on the team, in dota you need to be good enough to reach a high placement in TI to make that kind of money

Prize pools have always been more for show, ofc it's still a lot of money but orgs don't make money by winning the prize pool since that would be way to inconsistent, at best only 1 team can consistently get 1st every time. So the money is more just to make the tournament feel important

I like both games , but i think it will take more then 3 or 4 years to valorant surpass csgo , and i think both games will co-exist tho , because CSGO is still very alive in Regions like EU ,CIS , BR + Brazil major will make a lot of people to come back to the game
