fardeengg [#5]He made a big mistake mann but everyone deserve 2nd chance at least he was so nice and funny kinda sad ; (
Yeah but when you lose tour org 10+ million dollars its a whole diff narrative
If it was any other mistake could have gone another way but sadly this was too much. He must really love G2 as an org to step down. It's really the only way G2 as an org and brand can be heal in the publics eyes. I've followed league since beginning and Carlos really did make G2 into such a big European esports brand. He created a lot of rivalry in LEC and worlds scene cause g2 are seen as a villian in esports. Really he has done a lot for esports. Seeing him leave is a bit surreal for me.
zen-o [#9]Yeah but when you lose tour org 10+ million dollars its a whole diff narrative
True, but when you built the org from the ground up. You should be allowed that
fardeengg [#5]He made a big mistake mann but everyone deserve 2nd chance at least he was so nice and funny kinda sad ; (
He was a W person apart from the whole tate incident. Very charming and funny. But from a business perspective it was an unforgivable mistake.
capital_d_colon [#15]True, but when you built the org from the ground up. You should be allowed that
Idk, any other ceo does that and theyre kicked in a second, I guess its harder to understand since hes basically g2 impersonated. I imagine he’s still co-owner I guess?

ik what he did was bad, but we can't just forget the 100s of other good things he did. its a shame what happened
FaZeTenz [#31]ik what he did was bad, but we can't just forget the 100s of other good things he did. its a shame what happened
exactly he put everything into it and before this everyone loved him and all
fardeengg [#5]He made a big mistake mann but everyone deserve 2nd chance at least he was so nice and funny kinda sad ; (
in fairness he probably did have one.
Did the post with tate.
Defended the post in a tweet saying he can be friends with who he wants
Was made to apologise.
Continued to like tweets saying what he did was perfectly okay and he was not in the wrong
h9zard [#16]He was a W person apart from the whole tate incident. Very charming and funny. But from a business perspective it was an unforgivable mistake.
facts bro
FaZeTenz [#31]ik what he did was bad, but we can't just forget the 100s of other good things he did. its a shame what happened
Its not like hes going to jail. He will still be the owner too. He made an incredibly stupid and easily avoidable mistake that cost the company huge losses in terms of business and reputation. That has to have consequences. But I'm sure he will still stay popular as an esports figure. He is really entertaining too so it aint that bad.
capital_d_colon [#15]True, but when you built the org from the ground up. You should be allowed that
He's not the boss though. The board of directors is. All the investors who supported G2 through hard times with $27m+ in cash, in hopes he would lead the company well. He failed his position and didn't do what he was supposed to, so he is gone
Barre [#35]Insane how pussy people can be. I agree that Tate is very bad for young men but the guy literally only partied with him. That doesnt mean that he agrees with all his values but it is what it is. He also shouldnt have doubled down.
Guarantee you this wasn't his decision alone. He was probably pushed heavily by the board of directors since he just personally cost them a ton of money
landonprograms [#38]He's not the boss though. The board of directors is. All the investors who supported G2 through hard times with $27m+ in cash, in hopes he would lead the company well. He failed his position and didn't do what he was supposed to, so he is gone
hes still majority shareholder though?
unless he sells his shares
capital_d_colon [#42]hes still majority shareholder though?
unless he sells his shares
He's probably not majority shareholder. Between hirings & fundraising, his shares have probably gotten diluted a lot.
Look at big companies like Twitter, the founder of it, Jack Dorsey, only owns 2.3% of the company (0% once the Elon deal goes through).
Obviously Twitter is way way bigger than G2, but it could give you an idea as to how much founders shares can get diluted
charizard_123 [#4]Well he cost them like 10+m of dollars, kind of expected I guess?
Made them win way more?
Barre [#35]Insane how pussy people can be. I agree that Tate is very bad for young men but the guy literally only partied with him. That doesnt mean that he agrees with all his values but it is what it is. He also shouldnt have doubled down.
It’s a sad world we live in when you canceled just for partying with someone. Carlos isn’t a bad guy but they made him out like he’s one. The world is doomed my friend. The fact people are out there Cheering about this is just sad as well.
ItsMeDio [#39]feels bad for him.
some words are redacted from the statement.
Because he partied with someone? How is that deserving of losing your career?
fardeengg [#5]He made a big mistake mann but everyone deserve 2nd chance at least he was so nice and funny kinda sad ; (
Well the SJW cancel culture mob will disagree. They care that much about people’s personal lives that they canceled him just for partying with him. This shit is sad and the world is doomed.
Yeah.. I don't know about this one. He fucked up badly considering that it cost them the slot for Valorant franchise league and I can just imagine that many investors and sponsors weren't happy. But damn. I still think this is really harsh punishments all things considered. He still build G2 to be one of the biggest esport orgs in the world. If he just took some time off everyone would have forgotten this in no time if I'm honest. What he did wasn't that bad in the end of the day.
Larry [#52]Dude got canceled because he partied with someone. Sad world we live in boys. This shit is doomed. How people can possibly cheer for this when Carlos is the realize g2 is where it’s at today lol.
i honestly think it’s the double down and not really the partying, but it is all dumb decisions. he dont seem to be a bad person. carlos brought that spice and entertainment and i dont know if this decision even benefits anyone, not like theyre getting their franchise spot back, just losing an entertaining personality.
Larry [#53]Because he partied with someone? How is that deserving of losing your career?
Carlos put G2 name in the his party video
A shame but it was expected given the backlash. The argument that he got fired because he was partying is totally wrong. It’s not about him partying, it was about WHO he was partying with. Then he doubled down on it, which was the real kicker.
Cancel culture wasn’t a factor of this, this was an executive decision. Sponsors, shareholders, and even employees of G2 don’t want their CEO hanging around with a highly controversial person; it hurts the reputability and credibility of G2.
Also G2’s credibility is super hurt because they literally missed out on a partnership deal (which, keep in mind, they were considered a shoo-in for) due this incident. A lot of people were affected by this, not just Carlos.
Mortadelo [#46]Made them win way more?
Other than his LoL team. What other esport g2 actually good at?
Prontera [#60]Other than his LoL team. What other esport g2 actually good at?
Bro they are literally a top 10 CSGO team
Prontera [#60]Other than his LoL team. What other esport g2 actually good at?
plus their fortnite and apex teams are good too
firo [#56]i honestly think it’s the double down and not really the partying, but it is all dumb decisions. he dont seem to be a bad person. carlos brought that spice and entertainment and i dont know if this decision even benefits anyone, not like theyre getting their franchise spot back, just losing an entertaining personality.
I can see i upset some people with the downvotes. Cant expect much from the Valorant community. He should have never had to double down to begin with. That’s the problem.
The reason g2 is where it’s at though today is because of Carlos. Idk the whole thing is dumb.
Prontera [#60]Other than his LoL team. What other esport g2 actually good at?
They also have top cs and rocket league teams

this industry thrives with attention, negative pr will NOT get you sponsors and good stuff. public perception is important and your source of money basically, it’s just what happens in this kind of business where all eyes are on you, you wont want to ruin your brand. that is why the pr staff even stepped in to remedy the situation but unfortunately carlos the face of g2 just couldnt get off twitter for a second. he could have at least pretended to appease the mob but i guess ego first before business.
still, carlos contributed a lot to the space and i do think this is undeserved.
Mjtchell [#3]Good
edit: LETS GOOO I GOT MY FIRST DOUBLE DIGIT DOWNFRAG
impressive
Mjtchell to 0 stars speedrun
deserved. he sorta did get a second chance but doubled down. what I do like though - is that he still owned it like a fucking man, is facing the consequences with his head held high about what he should be proud of, and aware of his mistake, able to learn and as he said, get back up. good luck Carlos
Well Actions have Consequences.... especially if u are the CEO of a well known and beloved e-Sports org....the market that runs on fans and sponsors. Him partying with that asswipe was a PR disaster and also coated G2 millions. They can't get be deal back but they ig this is them making sure they don't lose a lot of sponsors and fans
kingpedrog [#63]Bro they are literally a top 10 CSGO team
but they never won any trophy in 5 years. also movistar riders and astralis are top 5 and they still cant make it out groups on ESL. rankings doesnt mean much on csgo unless u top 3.

That is the problem dude. No one should have to pretend to appease the mob. That shit shouldn’t exist. But like you said, the industry strives for this kind of stuff and the whole SJW cancel culture mob doesn’t help. It’s 100% undeserved, all he did was party with someone. He never came out and said anything in support of him lol.
Carlos is the reason why g2 is where it is. Riot is the absolute last company to hold a grudge for stuff like this and you can’t deny that.
Kepin [#77]but they never won any trophy in 5 years. also movistar riders and astralis are top 5 and they still cant make it out groups on ESL. rankings doesnt mean much on csgo unless u top 3.
It’s not about thropies, I meant the money he’s made, which includes buying and selling players which he’s made incredible business off. Selling entire top rosters for a shit tone of money and then re signing them for free, and then selling them again
Mortadelo [#81]It’s not about thropies, I meant the money he’s made, which includes buying and selling players which he’s made incredible business off. Selling entire top rosters for a shit tone of money and then re signing them for free, and then selling them again
then dont bring about their ranking man. haha
Kepin [#84]then dont bring about their ranking man. haha
Well but original point is, how has he made money if G2 is only good at LOL, and that first of all it’s not true but why I’m saying is that that’s not the only way of making money
