Why CSGO is so much more hyped than valorant?
I have like 100h CSGO, and maybe 10x that in valorant. But watching CSGO is so much more hype always. Maybe the casters?
buddyhoodie [#8]Pansy Hypoc whats the other
Bren and Sideshow (kind of inconsistent, but they can be very hype sometimes) balla is better as an analyst, doug is bad at being exciting, mitch and tom are somewhat funny, kind of, but lazy too.

Pansy Hypoc are good but still not as good as these CS casters I saw today
They're hyping up the crowd and swearing n shit

doug is great an interviews but dogshit at casting, I agree PanPoc and BrenShow are the two better casting duos, yesterdays casting of LEV XSET round 24 was goated
Larry [#2]Casters is a big one, gameplay, and easy to watch.
Biggest one is the crowd though. The crowd is such a big difference as well. The fact Valorant hasn’t had a lan crowd yet is a joke.
bro imagine literally nearly 2 years and they still havent have a proper Crowd for a LAN LMAO ITS SO FKING SAD

It’s pretty bad. I was told this event was going to be a crowd but I guess not. Will champions be? It’s just such a waste to not have one and don’t know what is holding them back. I get riot are stingy but cmon. People want more than these studio lans.

idk what riot is doing man, like I feel like they should have try for a crowd last year. Then they announce crowds but literally less than a month before event. Traveling such a hassle now and no one is gonna go fly there on such short notice and deal with all the covid rules.

final weekend will have crowds during 3 days that will decide the top 4 teams next week.
YouDii [#20]The crowd is what adds to the atmosphere, the 2020 to 2021 online era was ResidentSleeper for CS as well
this, if anything valorant is much more fun to watch with different agents, abilities. CS just same shit over and over.
dexter000111 [#5]I've never played CS but I'm having so much fun watching this match with Tarik rn
It's the casters and the crowd and the production
try CS my friend, u won't regret trust

Tried it on multiple occasions but it's not for me
Game is too dated and unappealing and match making is too toxic (more than valorant)
YouDii [#20]The crowd is what adds to the atmosphere, the 2020 to 2021 online era was ResidentSleeper for CS as well
it was still more exciting than valo has been for me,its just that cs is more intensive, fast paced and easier to follow
Pazker [#35]because europe, when valorant become big in europe then he will have the same hyppe, you being relevant in asia is no big deal europe is the center of the world
0/8, china rent free in your head

Upper Bracket Final, Lower Round 3, Lower Final, and Grand Final, will all have a crowd.
i think CS definitely has an advantage in the amount of time it has had to build up storylines, team rivalries, player rivalries, and streamline production. other people mentioned the crowds, but imo it's just unlucky for valo to have come out in the middle of covid so I don't really blame them for that.
tbh where CSGO really shines is that it's understandable for people who haven't played it. I haven't played it, and i still enjoy watching it. i've watch PUBG, CSGO, and overwatch with my dad, and CSGO is the one he will stay and watch with me because he can understand what's happening at a glance. i hope valorant doesn't go too much towards overwatch (even though i really like/d overwatch) because OW is just too hard to figure out wtf is happening with the colors and particle effects.

Mm is definitely not as toxic depending where you live. If you live in Russia or Eastern Europe I can definitely see that.
In NA Valorant toxicity is another level in pugs from my experience. That and the edaters is another experience itself.

All I'm saying is my first game in mm, I asked how the armours worked and what pistol to buy
The whole team replies with shit like "shut the fuck up and alt F4", "no one cares just do whatever the fuck", "buy barettas" (i guess that's a troll gun ?)
4th round in I got a clutch but didn't know the defuse key and kept pressing 4. No one told me it was e and insted started a vote kick
I've never seen such levels of toxicity in Valorant across both NA and EU across all ranks

Who knows. All I can say is that it’s Riot. They are missing out a lot of potential. Very curious if the seating will be limited for the event.
The Brazil major will be hype for CS. They can fill a whole stadium I feel like.

Not to mention only three international tournaments a year, two of which STILL only have 12 teams. Seriously Riot? I don’t know a single person who enjoys the 12 team format, 16 is more interesting and has more possibilities, and teams don’t instantly get seeded to playoffs.
juno_VLR [#48]and the consistent talent of the actual players.
I don't know any of them tho 😅
Besides s1mple of course. Honestly I've heard such great things about s1mple, but he played pretty poorly during the end. Maybe just a bad map

No offense but you kinda brought that on yourself. At least run through the game first so you know the default settings and mechanics. What does what and whatnot. It’s always best to play with a friend at first but cs Doesn’t have the training course like Valorant does so I get that. I’m sure you would be annoyed if people in ur Val game hopped into ranked not knowing the game (assuming they bought the acc).
Idk if people did that in my game I would just assume they are trolling. No doubt there are toxic players but I’ve had worst experiences in Valorant for NA at least.
yaiima0 [#33]The crowd and casters, the gameplay itself is boring af to watch
crowd makes the casters better too since they can hype them up and feed off the crowd's energy and excitement
production is just better in CSGO, how they cut to crowd, replays, the analasys.
Simple factor is they never miss a frag in CSGO, where as in valorant you can miss someone getting a 4K because your looking an over the top view in the other bombsite.
You do have to remember that the CS franchise is a game that is now 23 years old. Valorant will get there, just takes time.

Yeah I get that but it was my first game which means it was a low ranking lobby. So people should be understanding enough to help new players. People in valorant definitely are. I mean if I made a smurf account and a newer player asked me something about the game I'd help him properly
VibsTV [#49]Bro the brazil major sold out all tickets in 5 mins. It was mental
They can definitely switch to a bigger venue and sellout. I remember Tarik was talking about it. There was some stadium calling out to host the major there.

I also am not the biggest fan of how many chances a team gets in a tournament. For example if a team makes playoffs. They still have a double elimination bracket for whatever reason. Feel like it could be structured better.
I agree though there could be more opportunities for teams. I get it varies for regions. EU has several teams that are competitive but Only 3 can make it. I get they want a more international presence but I think it would be best to have the best teams to play whoever they may be.
Larry [#56]They can definitely switch to a bigger venue and sellout. I remember Tarik was talking about it. There was some stadium calling out to host the major there.
Yes, Easily could have sold 50k+, but already booked. So cant change it

Well the thing with Valorant it has unranked which people like to play. Me personally I could care less about unranked. If I’m gonna play a game I’m gonna play for my rank and to win. Would get bored just playing unrated all day. But unrated is a good way to learn. Cs has an unranked system but it’s not that popular. A good way to learn would be retakes or executes servers.
You might have been a new player but I’m sure your teammates were a bunch of players who are Hardstuck silver. They live and breath that.
Larry [#56]They can definitely switch to a bigger venue and sellout. I remember Tarik was talking about it. There was some stadium calling out to host the major there.
Maracana stadium with 78k capacity which would be sold but again obligations :/
Way better casters. Crowd that is usually amazing. Players more hype and iconic. Overall way more visible passion. Even chat is better. And overall it just feels much bigger than Valorant and that makes it more hype for me.
And for gameplay there is way more possibilities for different type of rounds slow and fast because there isn't barriers instead the game just starts and both sides can run and take map control instantly and because of that there's more action usually. And you don't have as much BS like ultis and stuff that can completely change the rounds.

for sure they should expand, especially since the more teams that get lan/international experience, the stronger the esports scene as a whole gets...just look at kru. definitely gotten stronger/improved due to international experience.

CSGO has to be the most toxic game but we love it. The community is not respectful towards new players cause there are people watching and playing the game for more than 20years and when someone ask them how to buy armour they think its a troll :D
U gotta give it one more shot, download faceit and start playing there...

Well if they find a way to change the venue and transfer the already transferred tickets they could definitely do it. I doubt they would not transfer the already bought tickets. Maybe you can only hope. Brazil will be the place to be though.

well for 1 i think any playoff should be double elim. also i think the 3 lan crap they pulling is bullshit. riot fucking this whole thing up. i hate the idea of franchising this early, but these money hungry douchebags want it. it's insane
univers [#63]for sure they should expand, especially since the more teams that get lan/international experience, the stronger the esports scene as a whole gets...just look at kru. definitely gotten stronger/improved due to international experience.
Yeah they definitely have gotten stronger. The only issue I have is wasted spots for teams at events that shouldn’t really be there. They are just there for the international presence. With that being said the expansion of more teams can allow that to happen so that there are teams that may not be great but improve with the experience.
But then you also have teams that deserve to be there.
Imo EU has 7-8 teams that can all win and be competitive but only 3 can make it. Hopefully this makes sense idk. NA has some teams but only one who is consistent is optic.
csgo is just the best esport to watch as you said it gives much hype. And cs casters are top notch, no other esport come close. Also as many people said it here, cs crowds helps a lot to do hype.
But I believe that if Riot does a good job like in LoL, val will be as prestigious an fps as csgo in the future

this site is known for shit takes but all i hear in this thread is facts
In valorant you get 3 tournaments a year with inconsistent teams thanks to shifting metas. Therefore it’s hard for there to be any rivalries (especially considering some teams play like 2-3 games only) or dominant teams. This makes player recognizability in masters (especially North America/Brazil where new teams come and go) . Scene being on its second year only makes these problems worse imo. Also casters make a difference of course. Valorant lacking a nostalgia factor also plays a part
Cresp [#13]Bren and Sideshow (kind of inconsistent, but they can be very hype sometimes) balla is better as an analyst, doug is bad at being exciting, mitch and tom are somewhat funny, kind of, but lazy too.

Nah double elimination in playoffs shouldn’t be a thing. So many chances idk. It’s fine for group stages but playoffs is no bueno for me.
Yeah 3 LANs is a joke and riot has always been money hungry and stingy. I mean it shows in the skin market. I would personally buy skins in CS over Val. I just don’t like how you can’t sell anytime. I know people who have spent 1500 in skins and they are stuck with them for life. Just feels overpriced for things you can’t sell.

it's ok, you start picking them up over time. my first event watched was katowice this year. i was on HLTV for some godforsaken reason, and saw the playoffs were happening. i was like ok cool, i'll check this out. and i see m0nesy stomping people, faze starting their dynasty, and one hell of a crowd for esports. pretty cool experience.
Ullyr [#85]I watch the japanese and korean broadcast holy do i wish ik their language the casters are so much better and more hype. I have no idea what they're saying either. Just the way they talk and how into it , you can feel the passion they have for the team. idk

this. everyone knows what riot can do with their tournaments. if valorant came out as the same time as LoL, it would crush the competiton. also the fact that its bloom coincided with covid does not help at all. champions istanbul will show us the potential clearer than ever.
