W awareness bro. The fact that you can recognize the distractions and the hardships and know what to do is a big achievement in itself. I hope everything works out for you :)

What is one thing you did this year that you're proud of?

posted 10 months ago

Well for 1, SEN hasn't made an international in 2 years, up until this year. And 2, everyone counted them out in regionals, in groups, and still now in Playoffs.

Nothing new to me. I'm kind of being serious though. I need a duo and you seem pretty cool.

I've actually been doing pretty good on that. I sleep at like 9pm so I can catch the games at 4 am.

This would be fire af too.

Yea Zellsis is pretty flexible. Idk I just don't remember the last time he's played Astra so I kind of negated it in my head.

posted 10 months ago

really, you think? I feel like they'd rather have a Gekko for plants but I could be wrong

posted 10 months ago

I don't know, I personally just don't see anyone on SEN playing Astra but I could be wrong.

posted 10 months ago

Yea... I know they're incredible, that's why I said they'll win if it goes to Sunset. While SEN have looked shaky at times, they've been able to close it out which I think is the most important factor. No one remembers the scoreline, or the round differential. They just remember either the win or loss.

Since they've been closing games out, they won't shy away from Sunset.

posted 10 months ago

Yea they cannot afford to drop stinkers against TH.

posted 10 months ago

That's also a big factor. The only reason why I didn't include it is because TH have been to a Grand Finals now. While the players on SEN are more experienced, TH have gone through some heartbreaking losses and that builds experience.

posted 10 months ago

wdym bruh, this is like a pretty standard comp. The only difference between this comp and TH's is that Boo plays Astra. I don't think Zellsis would play Astra and I don't think Omen is too viable on this map so I put Zellsis on smokes.

Here are some of my thoughts and predictions for SEN vs TH.

Map Picks:
TH and SEN have a pretty similar map pool and I think this will be the closest game of the tournament. TH has been permabanning Ascent so I believe that will be their ban, and SEN will ban Bind. For some reason, SEN's icebox is really good during internationals and garbage anytime else. While their Bind is pretty average, I think its a super procedure/set play-heavy map for which they might not be prepared for in time.

I think TH is a rookie team that likes to gamble, and they have yet to see SEN's Abyss. I think they will take that risk and choose Abyss first. SEN will pick Lotus. TH will ban Haven afterwards and SEN will ban Icebox. Remaining map is Sunset. Both of these teams are at the top in terms of win percentage on Sunset, with SEN taking a slight edge at 75% Win Rate, compared to THs 71%.

I think Abyss is a complete toss up and anyone trying to predict would be braindead. We haven't seen any Abyss for SEN so we really don't know what to expect. But seeing as how prepared they were with Neon, I would bet money that the coaching staff and JohnQT have some good things cooked up. If I were to guess what comp they'd be playing, I'd say:

Sacy: Sova
Tenz: Gekko
Zellsis: Viper
Zekken: Raze,Jett,Neon (i could see him on any of these)
JohnQT: Cypher

SEN is comfortable with all of these agents, with the weakest link potentially being Tenz Gekko.

For map 2 Lotus, I think that SEN have a slight edge. They've looked really really strong on Lotus except for their map against EDG. I'm not really sure what happened in that game but the calling was very mid. There was no map presence whatsoever and JohnQT looked like he was hesitating a lot. Both teams are really good at retakes but the reason why I think SEN has the edge is because they're just getting off a win against an EMEA team. While I think TH is better than FNC, their playstyle is somewhat similar. TH has not played against an NA team since the lower finals of Shanghai. That's one edge. The other is that with Neon in SEN's map pool, it adds another layer of depth. It'll be hard to predict whether Zekken will be on Neon or Raze and SENs team comps changes pretty drastically based on that.

For map 3, I think in my opinion, SEN will either win 2-0 or lose 2-1. While both of these teams are fantastic on Sunset, SEN have looked shaky at times against different opponents. I think they've gotten away with it for the most part with EDG starting slow, Hiro and Boaster having off games on Sunset, and DRX looking somewhat nervous. TH has real shooters. Every person on that team has the ability to frag out unlike the ones I listed. I think if it gets to a map 3, it'd be difficult to get past BenjyFishy or Riens. SEN excels on their attack side, as does TH. But TH's defense is way better than SENs.

So to conclude, I think SEN either wins 2-0 or loses 2-1. Thank you for reading if you did.

I'm not one to hate on a player but Boaster definitely got hit with some karma. After his comments about the level of play in Madrid being low, he went on to lose every international match against Madrid teams.

Lost to Gen G in Shanghai
Lost to TH in Champs
Lost to SEN in Champs

This goes to show kids. Always be humble and take your losses with pride.

posted 10 months ago

I'm more of a fan of the esports as a whole. I'm just supporting SEN during Champs because they came in super scrutinized and have made a little bit of a Cinderella run. I'd be happy with any of the last four teams winning.

posted 10 months ago

I definitely understand where you're coming from with this. I felt the same if I'm to be honest. The era of Optic, DRX, LOUD, PRX is coming to an end and new teams are rising up. I was really bored during some events because I just didn't feel connected to the teams. But once I just embraced the game, and took it for what it is. I started enjoying myself a lot more.

We have to give the teams the grace to become favorites or else we'll never enjoy anything new.

posted 10 months ago

This Champs has been so good. You could give each person 50,000 pickems and none of them would be right. The game is so competitive right now and most of the matches have been bangers.

Sentinels cinderella story is ongoing after months of struggling and looking out.

Team Heretics with one of the youngest cores in the league, filled with rookies showing why they're in top 4. Seeing MiniBoo cry was so sad. Imagine being a literal kid playing videogames as a job and being constantly harassed and being told you're not good enough. I'm glad he's proving people wrong.

EDG pushing the narrative that China isn't as far behind as some people think. Apparently the day before their match before SEN, PRX offered to scrim them with SEN comps to help them. That's so sick and it showed because they were very ready.

LEV defying the odds. Being labeled inconsistent and "Aspas and friends" all year.

I would be happy to see any of these teams win champs. We are eating good this year.

when are you going to realize you are just jinxing your team LMFAO

posted 10 months ago

Leo Faria might've actually cooked. He couldn't let SEN have an easy uppers run because they'd only be playing Chinese and APAC teams. Now they get to play TH and FNC as well for more views. Now they'll beat TH, beat EDG in the lower final rematch, and then the GF will be LEV vs SEN.

LEV helped SEN get to Champs only to lose out on the trophy because of them. What a script.

If you're good with it then why ask for help? Yes you get kills but just going based off of your past few games, you almost always have the lowest KAST% every single time. You probably play really aggressive which lets you get 1 maybe 2 picks and then you just die with no trade possibility. That's also evident in your First Kill ratio. You get the picks but you just leave the rest of the round to your teammates and in Gold that shit is not a good thing to do. Try playing Initiator. You can trade out your duelists, and set yourself up as well.

You clearly have good aim. But if you want to win, you need to be win condition and close out rounds. Playing initiator or even controller would let you do that.

posted 10 months ago

Play some different roles bro. If Duelist isn't cutting it, there's no point in forcing it.

posted 10 months ago

Man it sucks to see Boaster get so much hate. I don't keep up with FNC too much but any post game interview I see of him, he seems so nice.

No reason to avoid Zekken, he'll just slide right in your crosshairs.

posted 10 months ago

True but I was talking more about defense in those examples. The players I listed were the ones capable of doing the most damage in a round. Acend, EG, and OPTC all had different attack strategies.

That's also what I don't understand. There's a reason why Aspas has consistently been at the top but hasn't been the "best player" every year. He's not flashy or at least as flashy as the ones listed above. He's like the Nikola Jokic of Valorant.

posted 10 months ago

We're not in 2023 anymore. No one avoids Pissmon1.

posted 10 months ago

I vaguely remember that, you're right. I think Boostio said it in an interview. Regardless, teams constantly plan for Aspas.

posted 10 months ago

Yea it was to go where he wasn't LMFAO

posted 10 months ago

cuz you know ball

posted 10 months ago

Bro are people not watching the same game as me or am I just going crazy. People keep calling Aspas a baiter but what can the man do?

The literal strategy for teams is to go where Aspas isn't. This isn't an Aspas-specific thing either. In 2021, you had to avoid the cNed Op, in 2022 you avoid Yay, in 2023 you avoid Demon1, and now you have to avoid Aspas.

Their attack strategy also makes more sense to me. Aspas is 100x more likely to trade kills and he would provide no value by mindlessly entrying like how Demon1 was earlier in the year. He is meant to be the rock of the round, or the closer. That's literally what he's good at. Maybe I'm just reading too much into the bait but ya'll don't know ball.

posted 10 months ago

They just want the love to match the hate I guess you can say. When they perform bad, everyone lets them know it. When they perform good, they want their flowers.

posted 10 months ago

Script too obvious. LEV help SEN get to champs, SEN sends them home or vice versa. Leo Faria needs to cook better.
