If they run deadlock, I will personally fly to Seoul and shave Kaplan's porn-stache

posted 2 months ago

This isn't a hate boner post about SEN. I originally had SEN underdogging out of Group B but after seeing the week 1 results, it's not looking good. Put your bias as a fan or enjoyer aside.

I thought they would drop the deadlock for Champs but unfortunately no. At this point, going forward they will probably go back to their original "meta" comps after all the hate and the results but I fear that most of their tactics, strategies, and plans were built around the deadlock comps so I don't know how polished their old stuff will be.

They might beat FPX but it's going to have to be a monstrous effort to beat TH/Gen G in Lower Finals. It'd be cool to see them prevail but like I said, they are probably not up to speed with their old comps and are going to be at a heavy disadvantage.

99% of his baits are about NRG. Can't bait when the team is out for the rest of the year.

Any KC map from last year.

You should watch "Snakes on a Plane." It's so bad that its almost good on a plane

posted 2 months ago

I've seen both arguments. Regardless, I'm not concerned about my wording, I just find it hilarious that VLR doesn't know who to support.

posted 2 months ago

Is the funniest rivalry on VLR. SEN is too hated and no one wants to give G2 their flowers because they "play Valorant wrong" so you'll just see SEN and G2 fans arguing and they're both downvoted LMFAO.

what winning yet still not being good enough does to a man

posted 2 months ago

Valid point but a terrible example. This current Gen G roster is literally all new. The only person from 2023 that is still on the team is meteor.

posted 2 months ago

My bad, for some reason I remembered the G2 game being a playoff game. Regardless, they only lost one match in split 2. As for the level of competition, you can't really do anything about that. They beat the teams they had to beat. All of the other teams faced the same competition and either didn't win as convincingly or just straight-up lost. They didn't drop a map against the shittier teams. That's how round differentials and H2H work.

posted 2 months ago

They won Kickoff/Madrid, had a super mid Split 1, and then went undefeated in Split 2. How is that robbing? They had a very underwhelming playoffs but SEN have had a good/above average season overall.

he's hit or miss tbh, its a gamble to have him on your team

I've just been struggling hard because of the time difference. This event sucks for anyone that has a job. I literally can't watch any of the games properly.

bumping this in case no one saw it over the weekend

posted 2 months ago

That's valid. I've mostly switched over to FNS anyways. As long as you have adblocker or are subbed, he's better.

posted 2 months ago

I'd say Tarik is a 7. You won't find any sort of analysis and its all mostly surface level but that's not the point of his streams. Every pro can hop on and be analytical but its a lot harder to be entertaining in my opinion. So for that reason, I'd say a 7. FNS is better though, since he can do both at a pretty high level.

posted 2 months ago

It’s all good. I’m dumb for adding it to the list. I gave a .80 base points for anyone that had Haodong from last week. I’ll update your team for next week.

posted 2 months ago

Yes, you can retain your score and changeup your team.

posted 2 months ago

I thought about that but it’d be too hard to moderate and would be unfair to people in different time zones as they might be asleep so they would be left with shittier players.

posted 2 months ago

Hello everyone, all week 1 matches have been played and thank you to everyone that chose to participate. Here is the top 10 users that are leading the competition currently.

Please note that I made an error. I was under the assumption that Haodong was still on EDG so to everyone that had him on your team, I just put a base .80 rating. He will be removed going forward. Sorry for the mistake but you were not punished for it. Anyways, with that said here we are:

  1. Sheahhh (Total Player Rating: 6.31)
  2. StutteSt3p (Total Player Rating: 6.03)
  3. Lyprum (Total Player Rating: 5.99)
  4. Nobody__100 (Total Player Rating: 5.87)
  5. PP12123213123 (Total Player Rating: 5.73)
  6. Diepuo (Total Player Rating: 5.68)
  7. Cloudberry, Geospliced, Nguyenboi, Munyun (Total Player Rating: 5.60)
  8. Vashes, Tryeue2 (Total Player Rating: 5.58)
  9. Rico98, Normalstudio7 (Total Player Rating: 5.55)
    10.Comet_2100 (Total Player Rating: 5.53)

I have the rest of your scores but will not list them just to save some space. Sheahhh is currently ahead and is on track to win the prize money. The lowest score of the week is a 4.51 from an undisclosed user. For week 2, feel free to make a new team or keep your own. If you didn't make a team last week, but still want to play, feel free to start this week. You might not win but you can at least participate. If you need the list of players, refer to my last post that can be found at this link: https://www.vlr.gg/381502/champs-vlr-fantasy-league

To make things easier for me, please stick to creating your team in the following format:

S- (Your Player)
A- (Your Player)
B- (Your Player)
C- (Your Player)
D- (Your Player)

I'm on track right now chief. It's coming home to me.

posted 2 months ago

Maybe not to the extent I said but I expect eventually at least one of the regions will be the clear favorites. The game is still fairly new right now but I don't know how sustainable it would be. I mean EMEA rules CS, we'll see who it is for Valorant.

posted 2 months ago

that's what they said in League, now its a celebration if an NA/EMEA can take Koreans/Chinese to a map 5

posted 2 months ago

How long before all the Koreans and Chinese players take over and NA/EMEA is left as just meme regions similar to League.

posted 2 months ago

I think Zellsis would genuinely be so much better at Deadlock. The agent does not fit JohnQTs style at all.

posted 2 months ago

LMFAO, I came here ready to flame, and was left surprised.

posted 2 months ago

bro looks like he's popping every brain vessel on all the reaction cams just to go into the timeout with "Guys please have fun"

posted 2 months ago

Imagine you're Zekken, going 5-19, getting absolutely fucked by Gen G and you go into the timeout huddle just to hear Kaplan say "Chop wood, carry water, have fun." I'd actually just run it down mid.

posted 2 months ago

How many times are you going to give the same "we need to have fun" speech until you understand that you're in the most competitive Valorant league in the world and that your team is getting stomped?

posted 2 months ago

I think if it was the first match-up, I'd agree. But a loss that close is so tough for the mental. I'd be on full tilt for a while, knowing that it was so winnable. That's why I'm giving the slight edge for SEN.

posted 2 months ago

I think they might've jumped the gun and overestimated Sacy/Zellsis's abilities after winning Madrid. They're great mid tier role players that bring something to the team outside of the lobby. Zekken is your win condition in every scenario, he's the reason you won Madrid, dropping 101 in the GF. I have no idea why they would decide to nerf him and give him less breathing room.

posted 2 months ago

I think it's 60/40 for SEN.

When they were in team fights, SEN was trading and shooting back pretty well. Unfortunately for them, they didn't have that many with Munchkin/Meteors lurks.

FPX looked great aim wise but their strategies and issues with overheating held them back. It's a lot easier to bounce back mentally from a 13-7 than a 13-15 and a 12-14. I think SEN has the edge here.

posted 2 months ago

It's because half of these retards think they're in Madden franchise mode, putting different players on different teams. Despite what VLR might tell you, SEN has/had a good season overall, especially comparing it to the last two years.

They've definitely slowed down since Madrid, but we've seen their potential. They've proven they can be ahead of the meta and if they stop forcing these troll ass comps/roles, they can start winning again.

posted 2 months ago

Yea that's a factor too, when you play a comp like that, your whole team needs to play well to account for no flashes. They all just got read like a book and couldn't even get a footing.

I think its better to have a comp heavily built around Zekken so even if the team is struggling or starting slow, he can carry and keep them in the game for a late comeback.

posted 2 months ago

LMFAOOOO, I know you were furious Sacy was top of the leaderboards. Bro had to switch the narrative to Zekken 💀

posted 2 months ago

I'd honestly say 60/40 SEN.

SEN's main issue was getting absolutely fucking dominated on map control and getting read like a book. In team fights, they were trading pretty consistently and getting the kills.

FPXs calling doesn't seem to be the best, yet their aim looks disgusting.

If SEN can stop trolling with some of these comps, and play their regular game. They have a slight advantage.

posted 2 months ago

We probably won't be seeing it this year since there's no time to hash it out but I think SEN might need to consider Tenz playing secondary duelist on maps where Zekken plays Jett.

Zekken does not look nearly as comfortable entrying on Jett as he does on Raze and with the return of Haven, Pearl, and the addition of Abyss, it looks like Jett is going to be more dominant in the upcoming meta.

Having Tenz play Yoru, Neon or Reyna to help ease some of the pressure off of Zekken on Jett maps could be the key for SEN. Put Zellsis on Controller, Sacy stays on Initiator and JohnQT stays on Senti.

posted 2 months ago

So unfortunate dude, they honestly deserved to win here. They should be really proud of how they started off and hopefully this doesn't affect their mental.

posted 2 months ago

Unfortunately the matchup is too hype. I have to be up at 8 am for work broooo.

posted 2 months ago

Turkey got the silver medal for shooting. Most athletes in that sport have special equipment to see better/perform better etc.

This 51-year-old dude went out with no equipment, one hand in his pocket, didn't even close one eye to aim better, and still won Silver.

posted 2 months ago

They're just mid enough to weasel past to Champs. And shit enough to get stomped out everytime.
