Sage. Sage's abilities would allow for them to play pheonix.

Step 2 : poach primmie, make him grind portuguese duolingo in offseason
Step 3 : Dominate

ehh, fair enough i guess

At the end of the day, both had respectable matches vs Geng

but beating FPX ( a solid team) > anything that FNC did internationally this year

posted 4 months ago

and??? im not sure how that relates to any of the points made?

FPX performed virtually identically to FNC against KC, then Loud beat FPX.

If KC being young has anything to do with that, surely the same applies for KC vs FNC where they were younger

posted 4 months ago

yeah but the FPX at Madrid was basically performing identically to Fnatic at the time, based off how they did vs KC

claims that I'm being hypothetical, proceeds to talk about derke's speculation (cope) that they woulda beat EG and PRX if they beat loud.

Lets go through it one more time

The Facts
#1 Loud beat FNC twice at champs, coulda won the first time
#2 PRX with Something playing has outperformed Fnatic ever since (Champs, Madrid, and Shanghai)
#3 A fast improving EG came very close to beating Fnatic in a Bo3 at Tokyo even with complications surrounding practice with their star player.
#4 DRX nearly 13-0'd Fnatic on their own map pick at champs

The 'Hypothetical' parts
A. PRX could have beat Fnatic at Tokyo if they had Something - This plausible due to #2
B. EG would have beaten Fnatic at Tokyo
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
B is pretty obvious to anybody who watched the tournament, but since you wanna pretend we don't have eyes, lets look at it in more detail.

#4 logically implies that EG would have won, because it means Fnatic was playing at a level much weaker than EG, given that EG dunked on DRX

#3 logically implies that EG would have won, given that they already gave them a respectable fight when they were weaker and had prac/visa issues

#1 logically implies that EG would have won, given that Loud > Fnatic, and EG > Loud (proved it in Bo5)

#2 plausibly implies that EG would have won, given that EG > PRX, and PRX is at least plausibly better than FNC (see A)

posted 4 months ago

okay but EG C0m was actually cold asf during the time tho

posted 4 months ago

they can downvote it but they can't respond to it, tells you all you need to know

posted 4 months ago

Nah i hate to break it to you but every team that placed above Fnatic at champs woulda beat them at champs.

Loud - Self explanatory, it literally happened twice. woulda happened the first time too if not for a historic choke/comeback.
PRX - PRX with something have outperformed Fnatic at every single tournament since Tokyo. You could make the case that they coulda beat them at Tokyo as well, considering that champs was only a month later and they got second and beat the team that beat fnatic twice (loud), and managed a close win vs EG .
EG - EG at tokyo was one smoke spam away from beating Fnatic in a bo3, and that was without like 2 weeks of prac with their star player, and while they were still on their upward trajectory, which peaked at champs and proved without a doubt that they were the best team at that tournament.

Finally, a team that is getting 13-1'd by DRX on their own map pick wasn't gonna beat any of those 3.

Less likely for Cinderella teams to win

No, Cinderella runs are unaffected, mickey mouse runs are just impossible. For example Zeta at Reykjavic and EG at Tokyo were both cinderella runs (Double Elim) .
In single Elim, we had Karmine Corp (like the worst t1 team ever, by far) look promising vs LOUD and Furia be competitive vs Fnatic. These are mickey-mouse performances that double elim (and a qualifier) would have prevented from affecting the result, should those games have gone the other way.

Upper bracket games feel less suspenseful (Because even if they lose they’re not out)

If you don't understand that literally every match is extremely important, then I don't know what to tell you.

For many matches in the lower bracket, one team has more time to prepare than the other

Extremely marginal issue, far outweighed by the benefits of double elim.

So many games takes away the gravity of each one

Erm... No it doesnt??? Literally just more to watch?? It's not like the stakes/importance of one match is decreased by another equally important match being scheduled 30 mins later.

Viability/Success aside it must be such a headache playing against these guys like why tf are there 5 people in CT A on Icebox attack pistol LMAOOOOOO

posted 4 months ago

thats more of a skill issue than a system issue

posted 4 months ago

why not have jingg reyna something jett? Sova Jett Reyna KJ Omen. obv still non-meta but close enough that they can be competitive

posted 4 months ago

single elim is obv garbo, but your right on the money about a longer season. So little games makes it impossible for a team to develop players and is just so bad for the scene in general

posted 4 months ago

They are learning what the 'meta' in meta comp really means

Prime EG i'll give you but you seem to deny that teams now are generally better than teams then.

https://clips.twitch.tv/FamousSullenTarsierSmoocherZ-uPMMAkW8au1_noXw

Jingg on SEN's form during scrims vs them during champs (when they first got Johnqt). SEN would go onto dominate the offseason - beating PRX with jingg who got 2nd at champs - and then of course do what they did at Madrid.

and before the bitching starts read the following:

If I could I'd buy riot and completely overhaul the terrible qualifications/regular season points system currently, and completely overhaul T2.
Don't know specifically what i'd do, but surely it's possible to do better than what it is currently. The basic idea of 2 masters into champs stays the same.

0.93 and 1.03 yeah these are really some redgar numbers huh? 🤡🤡🤡
Especially considering SEN was surrounding him with elite talent such as Shroud and Dephh.

and in that same year Chronicle won back to back trophies

and in the same VCT Season (2024) Tenz won a trophy, Chronicle has 0 wins at LAN and PI'd in an elimination game vs FUT.

BTW here's a drawing of Chronicle's back to back trophies:

EVERY TEAM AT LOCK IN WOULD WIN BERLIN EASILY TOO.
AND CHAMPS 21.
AND PROBABLY EVERYTHING UP TO COPENHAGEN.
DO YOU GUYS SEE THE HOOPS YOU'RE JUMPING THROUGH LMAO
JUST BECAUSE A GAME DEVELOPS DOESNT MEAN PAST EVENTS DON'T COUNT
DO KOBE,MAGIC,JORDAN,BIRD, AND ALL THE OTHER GREATS HAVE NO ACCOMPLISHMENTS BECAUSE THEY GOT THEM BEFORE THE 3PT REVOLUTION???

posted 4 months ago

And lets take it even further, since we're doing "level of play" schenanigans. SEN Madrid was at a much higher level of play than Berlin or Tokyo (one of the reasons Fnatic got smacked in kickoff was because they didnt innovate- same comps, strats etc) so by ur own reasoning, Tenz > Chronicle. Im glad you finally accepted the truth!

posted 4 months ago

even still, Tenz has exactly as many masters trophies as Chronicle, its just that he was comparatively better when he got his.

Tenz > Chronicle

posted 4 months ago

you really can't come up with a reason why reykavic doesnt count other than
"hurr durr teams get better over time so earlier events never happened"

Pretty embarrassing, but expected from someone who thinks Lock-In > a real, international masters event
