I might have a weird idea, buttttt.
expand masters 1 of next year to 12 teams. However, the 4 extra spots aren't just 3rd slots for every region. Set up VCT Rivals, Americas vs EMEA, China vs Pacifiic. The Winner of the tournament grants their region these 2 extra spots (one for their region and one of their rival region). It gives bragging rights to the winner and bitterness for the loser. It won't be just some random ass event to serve as a prelim for champs, there are international spots at stake. imagine American teams coming to europe and just stealing two extra spots for next year's masters, or emea teams getting the buff from their home crowd and retaining their spots.

way too short for my liking, a swiss system gives a great chance to see the region strength after an off-season shake up. Like imagine if, let's say out of 12 emea teams only 2 survived the swiss systems. That would show that emea is a weaker region and they would shake up for the 2nd masters

it is simply based on the top champs finish. Seeding doesn't matter as much, you can go 0-3 with the number 1 one seed and you can go 3-0 with the 16 seed, just git gud

fuck that 2 games per day bullshit, we are pushing riot to their maximum.
day 1 - Group A openers
day 2 - Group B openers
day 3 - group C openers
day 4 - 1-0/0-1 games at group A
day 5 -1-0/0-1 at B
day 6 - 1-0/0-1 at C
day 7 - 2-0/1-1/0-2 at A
day 8 - 2-0/1-1/0-2 at B
day 9 - 2-0/1-1/0-2 at C
day 10 - 2-1/1-2 at A
day 11 - 2-1/1-2 at B
day 12 - 2-1/1-2 at C
day 13 - 2-2 at A
day 14 - 2-2 at B
day 15 - 2-2 at C
One week rest
playoffs

swiss system. 3 wins you are in, 3 wins you are out. 8 teams out of every group, 24 teams in playoffs. 8 teams get a bye round (6 3-0 teams and two strongest 3-1 teams *based on opponent difficulty)

posted 2 months ago

48 teams, 3 groups of 16, region priority (CHINA>EMEA>AMER>PACIFIC) (if it were to be run in 2025) In my opinion it sets up regional rivalries, gives bragging rights to the region with the most Winners and teams thru, overall a W

Is it like chronicle to vitality? 2 friends reunited after one of them left?

posted 2 months ago

yeah, with a shit budget, no room to work with and all the best talent already under contract. That's like giving someone 3 deflated wheels, a rotten Engine, car hood where the rats have set up their home and the bodywork which went thru both Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs and telling them: ''With this you need to build a car faster than the Buggati Veron''

posted 2 months ago

they won't stop adding new teams cuz they aren't doing this anymore. Maximum capacity is 12 teams

posted 2 months ago

I think Buchholz (a.k.a schedule strength coefficient) can either cook for the tournament or make it shit. buchholz basically assigns you a coefficient adding together the scores of your previous opponents. e.g. a 3-1 team who beat 0-3 1-3 and 2-3 and lost to a 3-0 team would get a worse coefficient than a team who lost to a 3-0 team and won the 2-3 team 3-2 team and 3-1 team

posted 2 months ago

setting up a 48 team tournament would be kinda hard. but I think it is manageable. 3 groups of 16, each group has 4 representatives of every region. swiss system, 8 in, 8 out. 24 teams after groups, 6 3-0 teams and 2 3-1 teams (based on game difficulty/region strength, so the regions get the priority of their best champs placement) get a bye, others fight in round 1. teams with a bye choose their opponent and you get a 16 team single-elim bracket

assemble 2 super teams in cs and val in one off-season
CS team fucks everyone and only lost 1 series all year in cs and like 8 maps (while winning 50 or so)
Val team dominates emea, makes international, proceeds to find zywoo 2.0 who smurfs tier 1.
Fuck y'all,
sincerely Salty navi fan

bro first zywoo and now cyvoph, meanwhile i am a navi fan and their cs team keeps a decoy in w0nderful and then sucks dihh in val

I feel like they just need one big win, they are like an anime main character who needs to clear a certain checkpoint before becoming that strong. Like They were like top 30, won yalla, became top 15, won thunderpick, became top 6-8, now they can beat navi and faze and g2 but can't do anything against spirit/mouz/vitality, so the perfect way for them to click is an event where these 3 are missing, and maybe after that they can become contenders

posted 3 months ago

might be kinda late ngl

posted 3 months ago

I feel like riot just needs to invest into CIS and it will be a big region. Problem is that CS and dota are on football level of popularity, kids see cs and dota and football like equal stepping stones for a professional sports career

posted 3 months ago

I really want for mongolz in cs to take the next step, their best chance for an S-tier trophy comes at Bucharest, they are the strongest team there and their closest conteders are EF/faze/g2/falcons. Faze and g2 suck, falcons are kinda mid, so I would love to see EF/mongolz fight for their first S-tier win

posted 3 months ago

Is it like fully dead? Kinda crazy to see so many of them in dota/cs but then val is just empty

w0nderful isn't even the best ukrainian awper, it's jambo and r1nkle

meanwhile cs casters calling standing in between a smoke and a molly ''edging'' just cuz a twitter post with the most likes named it so

and there is a huge difference between how important val and cs are for navi

posted 3 months ago

system works but it requires a consistent awper. NaVi got their biggest win with w0nderful still being good. It's just that something has changed in him since Cologne. 0 Confidence. This navi need an X-factor, someone to create a spark for the fire, and monesy is just that guy

I honestly want B8 to somehow git gud and shit on them with their cs rejects (npl and headtrick), I would laugh like a hyena if I have seen that shit

posted 3 months ago

ah so they sign mid one-season wonders for big money but can't splash the cash for monesy?

posted 3 months ago

thing is, w0nderful isn't just choking, it's not like s1mple where he is the goat when it comes to group stages but he crumbles in the finals, w0nderful just has 0 confidence. wrong crosshair placement, bad positioning, tries flicking too much but can't hit them. Like they had the semis vs spirit in katowice, close overtime on dust 2, and magixx (by far spirit's worst player) just wide swings into w0nderful, 0 flashes, 0 smokes and just deletes him THREE TIMES out of 6 rounds in overtime. Just a typical w0nderful moment for you: https://youtu.be/_NKWvOjIWBI?t=12910
0 flashes, shit buy against him, teammates set up in positions which basically require him to kill and he just dies and gives away a CRUCIAL round.
''until things really become muddy''
They are muddy. Don't let their playoff appearances fool you, it's just farming against low level teams like furia, get into playoffs, meet someone like spirit/mongolz/ef and get shit on. If they remove anyone other than w0nderful then I just wish for this org to suffer the same faith as fnatic and nip in cs:
aleksi is the best IGL of 2024, jL is a god at big games, b1t is the most consistent anchor in the world and iM is the perfect space creator for this lineup. put monesy into w0nderful's shoes and this team contends with vitality on tournament basis and shits on spirit
