should have gone to australia but that's just me I guess
each team there plays a huge amount of games and gets a share of TV rights, bundles are nowhere near that profitable, nothing is
so then orgs get even less incentive to stay at the league or what?
because it is not profitable, you can only expect a sold out at the weekends, not on a monday or a tuesday
I am pretty sure that orgs outside of valorant are going ''awuga'' when they see team bundles and shit, they would easily hop in if any org dropped
unfortunately no one gives a shit about them, they have 1 bad year, they get axed, a bigger team buys them, expects immediate results, doesn't get them, they get axed, they legit have a better chance in cs than in valorant
expecting CS level of crowd at valorant with dead mics and little to none crowd cams, XD KEK LUL KKKKKKKKKKKKK
they should make regional leagues 16 team with 10 franchised + 6 open qual, but leo faria apparently wants CS to shit on valorant when open circuit comes, good for GayBen I guess
what will be more hype for French, cs major or champs?
that's retarded, you would expose more talent and give more teams money by hosting open qualifiers and you wouldn't need to spend gazillions for orgs like mibr to go 1-9
I don't understand why would riot spend additional money on granting these teams money to run instead of hosting open qualfiiers for regional splits
I really wonder what's the point for teams like BBL, Mibr, Furia, Zeta to stay around like this, or is the real success of franchising are the friends we make along the way?
basically these events wouldn't grant anything for tier 2 teams, except for money and exposure. CS events like Cologne work because if a team has a good enough performance it will rise up the rankings and get more invites to other tier 1 events, despite not being a partner.
Example Given, team spirit went in Katowice as one of the Play-in teams, however after winning the event they rose up the rankings and their ranking slot was good enough for them to get consistent tier 1 invites at events like Dallas, therefore improving their seeding, granting them better exposure and allowing them to get more ranking points to get better seeding for the Major. Teams in CS grind event to event to get more points and get into the Major qualifying slots, it doesn't work the same way in valorant
EWC is in the summer, all the time afaik
sadly a vast majority of managements in esports is retarded and they will get worse, somehow
riot are probably dead set on being the only TO and therefore limting the number of events as much as possible, this format you propose would only work with an open or a semi-open circuit, unlike whatver valorant is with its franchising
gambit literally swept what was future optic 3-0
I am talking to a fucking wall
it would literally develop the same way NA developed in valorant instead of cs
Ukrainians don't give two shits about angel as well, most people talked about how navi were almost top 1 in cs over the fact fpx won something
it literally would, CS rejects would go to valorant and make even more russian teams who would shit on everybody
would dominate if mad vlad didn't bust gambit era
leo fartia forgot about home region, xd
kyiv was pretty much the biggest esports city in eastern europe, before war happened, so I doubt any of the people give a shit about valorant
who is in charge of the music, Shaman, gazmanov, dora?
ngl, I like Bakhmut more, or maybe Champs Donetsk at Donbass-arena?
Gazmanov to set the music, holy fucking shit, Champs Moscow is coming
https://www.timesofisrael.com/medal-of-olympian-who-defied-hitler-by-embracing-jesse-owens-goes-under-the-hammer/
Ange1 at champs moscow
I really doubt it is coming buddy, maybe after Champions Kyiv or Masters Tehran
VCT 2026
Masters Baltimore
Masters Mumbai
Champions Birmingham
it will be a fucking meme if it's that ''SwiSs SyStEm'' again
russian shuffle after shanghai coming?
heretics made 4 changes to their squad before becoming good, and they are an international team, it was easy for them. Gentle Mates have 1 year left of franchising and need french speaking players, their options are very limited
in cs you need precise counter strafes, snap tap basically gave what null binds were doing (instant direction change), and so it caused controversy because the bind version is banned, and people were wondering if the keyboard implemented version is the same
let's be honest, they are probably not making champs
true, but the Paris major had the most active crowd when Vitality were playing https://youtu.be/hHAtEQrftAY
bangkok is a weird one, toronto is ok, paris really depends on what emea teams qualify
I wonder what venue they will choose, probably the same where the CS GO major was hosted, it was quite dope, but it was clearly more active when Team Vitality played. I really dope any of the 4 can be considered real french teams, so it will probably be less hype than the CS GO Major
Paris will be a library if Karmine Corps doesn't show up, xd
why is riot so interested in turning away all the tier 2 orgs and killing the future of the pro scene
it just fucks the game. CS and Valorant are competing for the same people, and for me it is concerning that valorant has not overtaken CS when CS doesn't have a functioning anti cheat, had a franchising locking away all the prospects, problems with the new game, that was the golden opportunity for riot to pounce. But instead, most people find valorant getting quite stale, vct just looks sterile and CS esports still bags higher viewership, and now valve actually seem to have woken up (snap tap ban, anti cheat updates, open circuit next year). I fear that valorant might just go down the way of overwatch league.
It would actually be sad if riot took all the player base from overwatch, siege and other games to 5v5 shooters, only for them not to capitalize on it and for those people to leave for CS when CS actually gets their shit together
I just don't see vct growing with these rules. you have dead orgs like KOI, MIbr, furia, EG, BBL, NaVi, Liquid, most of APAC and China just munching on that riot money, doing nothing of relevance. tier 2 teams won't get their chances, get fucked if you don't make it to champs, then these tier 2 teams are banished to challengers again, their best players are stolen and the org just quits.
CS audience is the only one getting there imo, esports crowds probably have a better atmosphere than hockey and basketball crowds in the US so that's progress already. I just don't understand why people are against emotions. VCT will just turn into a fucking circus where the same players sit with a fucking stone face occasionally standing up from their chair as if their ass is itchy, crowd just turns into a golf one. Riot legit want to kill their fucking esport it seems, limiting teams, killing tier 2, limting the fans
never compare to big sports, esports isn't even close to them (except for LoL I guess). Riot needs to implement crowd mics and allow the crowds to actually talk their shit, same for players. CS just doesn't have a filter, you have broky double middle finger after 1-11 comeback, cadian calling enemy team noobs, Dallas crowd going ''FUCK YOU APEX'' and Apex actually responding to them https://www.youtube.com/shorts/dMi-wTtiQL8?feature=share
it's actually insane that something has to apologize for a middle finger, let the pros have fun, and the fans will have fun as well
crowd would be decent if gen.g/drx made it to top 4, now it will probably be a library, due to how spread out over the globe vct teams are there will always be a home team and a team with no support, so it's best to just host it in a big region with a huge vivd fanbase, like US again
They don't want to make the overwatch briggite mistake but then they go the complete opposite way and turn new characters into useless new flashy thingies
then complete bots would have around 30% win rate, yet most of them stick around 45% win rate in the long term.
40-48% = lower skill than the rank you have
49-52% = exactly your skill level
53-56% = slightly above your rank
57-60% = above your rank
more than 60% = way above your rank
I don't understand why I am getting fucking dissed when I am just stating the obvious that ranking up is based on how well you do in the games where you make the difference, not your stats in meaningless losses 2-13. most people will obviously stick around 50%, because most of the players remain at their level for a long time
Now what happens if riot is secretly just rigging everything so that you are stuck in the game. Always getting bad teammates
Google Dota's hidden pool buddy, every comp game is built like this
EDIT: Some people dub it 50% win rate stage, but in reality all you need is just git gud lol.
40% of games you win no matter what
40% of games you lose no matter what
20% of games are the games you decide.
That's why most pros have a win rate of around 60%, they are just better
