In my opinion it's the patch updates and the format. Patches come quite often, and they flip how you play the game. In that sense val is close to dota/lol where you can have 1-patch-teams. As for the format, simply having a team play like 13 games in 8 months is just inexcusable. Best practice is real game experience, you can play 30 scrims a day and win like 28 of them yet none of them come even close to like a 7 series grinder of a LAN. Mechanics when compared to CS feel way more simple and not punishing. in CS, if you are an awper and you fuck up a peek, you either die, get chased down or lose a chunk of map control. In val you either have a get out of jail card like jett dash or can retake map control thanks to abilities.
