It's not about talented players in gold, well for sure there are. The example this post speaks of, is pro players and high elo players saying they cant beat golds, or low elo. It's not that they cant, it's that they play reckless and play how they play in higher elo, which is following how enemies tend to play in that elo.
I've done it in siege. I've been high elo in siege, and went on a low elo account to play with a friend. I couldn't read the enemies for shit, and wasn't doing well. They didn't have good mechanics, but are hard to read. All I had to do was not play like I was better, and just play properly. As soon as a high elo person does that, they most likely wont win.
The one issue I had when playing against golds, is not knowing how they played, it tilted me that what they were doing worked. It isn't a consistent way to play, but it can throw you off so easily. After having my shit wrecked in siege by golds, I just learned to not try to outplay them, and just play brainless against them diffing them with aim.
