They're hype af when Optic does a good play or something, but calm and dull when Loud wins a close round.
edit: literally compare the bonus rounds of each team, the emotions are so different
tbh I'm not sure why you're surprised there's bias in english speaking commentators, towards english speaking regions. It's pretty much like that across nearly every sport.
It's like going into the jp streams, and wondering why they wernt as hyped when optic won a map against zeta, opposed to zeta winning a map.
I dont really agree with it, however it's been a thing since as long as I remember.
I've found the commentators and desk staff pretty underwhelming during the whole tournament tbh, they have clear favourite teams (which is fair, they're human) and seem to take it a bit too personally when said teams don't win. I think part of the issue is that all the commentators are all from EMEA or EU so they're understandably biased towards their home teams and know the most about them. I would love if next Masters they get a few commentators from other regions, hopefully it would alleviate the bias
Everyone is denying it but it isnt completely false, when it comes to teams that arent EMEA or NA there are different expectations completely. If a team doesnt play crazy like PRX or if a team doesnt constantly have heroics or the craziest round ever then the casters dont react nearly as hype as they do for EMEA and NA teams
