We will never have a "s1mple of Valorant"

Yesterday Thorin released a talk show episode with ardiis from FPX where he essentially said that we will never have like a s1mplesc type player who is just clearly above the rest since the skill celling of the game in terms of mechanical skill is just to low to allow that.
I kinda agree with him on that we will probably never have such a player who is just miles above everybody else.

What´s your opinion on that matter?

We will never have it, not because of the skill ceiling
But because of the changing META

its like saying ''we will never see X player in LoL because skil ceiling too low compared with DOTA'' but there is still player like Faker

Thing is, before s1mple happened to CS I never would have believed even in s1mple of CS

We will always have several who are at a different level than the others, but not a single player. For example

Derke, nukkye, cNed, nAts, Chronicle, leaf, yay, ScreaM etc.

Lets just have our own narratives, who cars about being cs junior

The skill ceiling thing will always be fucking hilarious to me. As if a game requires a high skill ceiling to have a stand-out talent.

I'd say Chess comparatively has a lower ceiling than pretty much any esport, just because there are fewer things that are possible to do. Yet, people like Magnus Carlsen exist.

(Chess undoubtedly has an average skill much, much closer to the ceiling than any esport, though.)

admittedly, valorant has a lower skill floor. but its skill ceiling is as high as csgo

It really depends on time, cs never has ground breaking updates, but after every month or 2 Valorant has meta shifts due to ground breaking updates, after, this game gets old we get a player like simple in this game maybe but in near future i don't see anyone in Valorant like simple did in cs

He's right. The mechanical skill gap is very narrow. There's not much you can do when everyone abuses the leniency between run and gun(IK THEY kind of fixed it but it's still there). It's still very easy to ad ad spam which promotes less mouse movement which denotes good aim. The leniency of deadzone for counter strafing is the one thing they seriously need to make strict. That way, there's a clear distinction between skill levels. But I don't think riot will do this as they want to keep the game accessible to all which I understand. But they need to realize and acknowledge that this is holding back the pro scene and top levels of the game.

Valorant is not even 2yrs old. When cs was 2 yrs old in 2013/2014 scene was a mess. Remember s1mple is clearly the best player since 2020

and the game becomes much better with just that
then adding a spray pattern instead of actual 'spray and pray' would be nice, but rito seem unkeen to make the game like cs

I think valorant is like comparable to moba. Just like in dota2, its not really like the best player who wins but the best team is.
We cant really there whos the greatest player but we can if we talk about the greatest team. its like even your team has the best mechanical players in each position, if theres no chemistry in between, you wont be the best.

We will have a player like s1mple but in terms of trophies and consistency not in terms of raw skill and 1v5'ing. It's too hard to solo carry in this game.
