Hi vlr, doing my stats about premier team I've realised some change that was not announced in riot. In 2024 team repartition follows a Gaussian curve, in 2025 it's more an exponential model, if it's too complicated check the detail in video, it will help you to understand premier better.

Hi vlr, this week a quick video to tell you that premier has change FOREVER and nobody knows it, and this is probably because Riot has made no annoucement about it, and I found that only by accident.

I was doing some stats about premier team in each region to estimate the playerpool in each Tier-2 and I realise that between 2024 split 6 and 2025 split 1, the repartition of premier team between the division has totally changed.

In 2024 the repartition of team form a Gaussian curve, with a peak in Contenders tier, A gaussian is a figure where in first rank an d the last rank, you will not have a lot of team, and more you go in the middle mid rank more you gonna see a huge amount of teams.

To give you an exemple, a gaussian is kinda what we have in soloQ. As I said it before they are an exception in the Gaussian curve contenders. because it was an important rank, since it qualify a team in invite division that can qualify to Tier 2, so a lot of team got a direct access to that tier.

But it seems that everything has change in 2025, the gaussian curve is over, we still have peak for contenders, because it’s still an important tier, but now it seems we have an Exponential curve. And as you can see most of the team are in the last rank, and more you approach from elite division, lesser team you will have, wish mean in lower rank an average team has loose 3 or 4 division.

For exemple, for a team that is right in the middle of the premier team, this team was in 2024 in Advanced 3, while in first split of 2025 this same team right in the middle of premier team is now Intermediate 5. So don’t worry if you have loss some division, thats pretty normal.

To add some complexity, not every region has the same number of rank, for exemple, the lowest rank avaliable for a team in South-East-Asia is open-2, while in Europe-East last split it was Advanced-2, and I think this split 2 it’s even Advanced 5.

And I kinda think this is trash, I understand some region need less divison than other because they are fewer popultion, but instead of getiting rid of every Open or Intermediate division I would have prefer that Riot remove the first and maybe the 2nd division of every tier, so it’s easier to compare 2 team in 2 different region, and at least Advanced 5 and Intermediate 5 would mean the same in every region.

So to conclude Riot is slowly reducing the number of division, and have totally changed the repartition of premier team and I don’t remember them to announce anything publicly about that. Say goodbye to the gaussian model, and say hello to the exponental model. nNd think, Dont compare the rank of your team with a team that is not in your region, because if your Eastern European friend show you his advanced 5 team, he is probabl way more worse than you even if you Indonesian team is Intermediate 5. Thanks for listening to me, and as always byyye
