Masters have only 12 slots. Not 16. Wtf RITO doing. Game about to die before it even expand.
I said game about to die because of the lack of slots. Not even 16. Last Masters1 even had 10 slots
Bro This time Masters only has 12 teams. Not 16. Number of participants are less this time. You better be bad at maths
do you guys know if china is ever gonna participate? i remember they were supposed to in the LCQ last year but it looks like they arent gonna be again this one
Good slots, emea doesnt deserve 3 just for 1 good tourney lol. They have 3 at masters, and 2+1 lcq at champs. its fair, but i still think they should have a masters winner auto qual
Not to burst your bubble but EMEA placed top 2 at every Masters and Champions...
IT is Apac is SEA+SA+OCE+JP+KR
South Asia alone is 2Billion people SEA is like 700Mil? all in all could be around 3Billion people and
YES it also has a bigger player base than EMEA not just population
Not everyone plays val, better to look at player base. In terms of that they are nearly equal but EMEA is way bigger in competition with more T1 teams, which is why the slots difference is unfair
Let it sink in that there are 115 countries in EMEA and yet they only get 3 slots despite being the best region
4 slots for BR/LATAM is the dumbest choice ever. would rather give 1 or 2 of them to eu
asia literally did better than SA. other than KRU, south america didnt make playoffs ONCE.
This is called tradition on FPS game. You should respect that. EMEA should get 6 spots instead.
Oh, I forgot about the huge tradition the mighty AUSTRALIA has on any fps game lmao Renegades couldn't even pass through the 1st stage on last CS:GO major
im not talking about my country am i LOL. im talking about asia more deserving than BR. well its all good, at least im not living in slums
asia is def not more deserving than br/latam
what r u on
talking about tradition
wtf has tradition got to do with deserving LMAO. better region deserves more slots. SA dogshit region. remove KRU and and the region only has won 2 games in 3 LANs because they versed japan
But now they counter argue by generalising APAC performance on JP's performance. There's no end to this dumb argument
ur mad for no reason
but u literally said on #51
but well
have a nice day salty aussie
Asia also has no tradition. And I don't live in a slum but nice xenophobia right there, mate.
Asia has no tradition on FPS esport, that's a fact. I'm not saying everyone suck, but the history isn't there, just that.
And xenophobia is because my whole country is not a giant slum how our friend is trying to paint, I don't know what you got from that?
daily reminder brazil has only won 2 games in 3 international LANS. all of them against japan
At Champions:
What the hell is this joke?
I get it, Asia is big as fuck, but 6 spots fot them and only 3 spots for a competitive scene like EMEA? Really? Also, Brazil/LATAM has 1 spot more and NA the same spots
This is... disappointing
I think SA LCQ should get 1 and EMEA LCQ should get 2.
That's the only messed up part.
Also I think we shouldn't count KR and JP with APAC S, especially now they made different LCQ for them
Issue here is not to remove 1 spot from BR/LATAM but why only 12 teams? :(
I don't mind that EMEA has less slots than BRATAM and APAC.
People might call it a joke, but Riot is trying to market the game to other regions than EMEA and NA. Marketability and advertising are two main factors for a game's success.
If the minor regions don't get hooked into the game, then it will be bad for the game's viewership potential in the long term. But hey if y'all want the game to be like CS:GO, with the same 8 teams, and the same 2 regions, then that's all cool. I wouldn't want it tho.
Just my two cents on it.
i dont mind other region got more slot but making slot less for EMEA, the best performance region is just not the move
people saying that apac doesn't deserve the amount of slots they are receiving are completely dumb
anyone know whether the winner for each master will get a direct slot to champions or it already included in the slot distribution given?
It doesn't matter, at champ playoffs we will see like 3 EMEA and 3 NA teams with a Korean and a Brazilian team. So, rito will only bring Paper Rex to be eliminated in 2 matches and how will this increase the viewership rate?
Why didn't Riot just simply increase the number of participating teams from 16 to 24 or something like that is beyond me. It's not like money is the problem for them...
Something tells me that even if covid was a non factor, those people would religiously stick to 16 participants tbh :D
I don't know, man. CS had the Stockholm major and it feature 24 teams. The format was different, ok, and it had more stages, but I don't know why they don't do something similar
CSGO got money for fund from steam but RITO got money from only valorant as a main fund to make tournaments ?
The only benefit of doubt I can think of is maybe Riot wants to save some spots for China prbly.
In future Champs would be 24 teams hopefully with China and increased slots for NA and EMEA
