i hate the all league games are on LAN, feel like it takes away from the hype of masters a bit because one of the biggest things that pulled me towards masters and champs early in VCT was that it was on LAN
LAN keeps fraudulent players away from the scene as everyone is trying their best to win on LAN. This weeds out the lower end players who make it through based on networking. The less LAN the less self-policing by the community which means a worse experience for everyone.
Looks so much like 1.6 did. The only way to break into the t1 scene is literally take a team to the end and then get picked apart and one less team to root for in the community/tournament scene.
yeah and orgs are leaving rocket league left and right bc it isn't stable, hell, the 2nd best team itw left this year because they were LOSING money on the esport
i also hate franchising, it's lame, kills hype, and got rid of a lot of beloved orgs, but i don't think rocket league is the best system to try to be emulating
I don't feel that way but I get what you mean. However, in a tac fps game like valorant things like ping matter a LOT. Think about how bad that would be for regions like Americas or Pacific where the regions are very big, and there's just a lot more outside factors that could affect the integrity of the games if it's not on LAN. Theoretically in your eyes you're sacrificing hype of internationals so that you can have higher quality region matches, and personally considering how important the regional matches are for getting to internationals, I'm okay with that sacrifice
