Why does a video game require a gap of 7 days between matches? Even high performance sports have a gap of like 3-4 days max so compared to that Valorant should get a maximum of like 2 days.
they can fix that by playing double the amount of games. why dont they just do a round robin for each regional league each split and have twice as many games played. a team can be in good form during one split which makes it harder for other teams in their group to qualify for playoffs and vice versa. they should make each regional split a round robin and let more teams qualify to internationals it'd be way better
Because soccer games have tens of thousands of paying crowds and billions of dollars in TV broadcasting rights deals. In Val, Riot Arena has 200 people in the stands (not sold out) and free YouTube viewers who don't spend any money. With the exception of internationals, playing fewer matches is beneficial.
Unironically I think it's cause of scheduling. For these regular season games riot uses their own arenas which they also use for other games (LoL) and other activities, so they need to spread the games out more. Whenever they rent an arena for masters the games are always more compact and we don't have these breaks because the more days they reserve the more money they have to spend. I don't think they really care about prep time for teams
