Its because of the language. Each word is one syllable = faster, more efficient comms and more information passed during timeouts. Because of this I think in 2-3 years all the best teams will be speaking fluent Chinese, and valorant will ascend to a new level of competitive gameplay

ive once played a 5 stack comp game in chinese with friends, honestly if everyone is fluent, coms do flow a lot faster, and things are more concise. i dont think that teams would actually change their language tho but yea

looks like the chinese lessons that nadeshot are sending his players to are pretty handy after all.

on average, words in (mandarin) chinese are two characters long (two syllables), although many common words are just one syllable. comms can often have simple words that are adapted for a specific in-game use, for instance for breach comms "flashed" = shan le (just means flashed), "stunned" = zhen le (where zhen here means like to shake or quake), "aftershocked" = bao le (bao here literally means like blast). mandarin chinese also has a lot of homophones and near-homophones, so context (+ tones ofc) are key

Classic pseudoscience.
Player speaking English also use brief Tactical words like peek, site, flank etc, sometimes Chinese player will also use English words in communication.
