hes a super team merchant

he has never been (yes, including now on vit) been the best or even close to the best player on his team

put literally any top tier duelist on that 2023 team and they have the same success, in fact put any top tier duelist on fnc in general and they make the same amount of tournmenets

he is a very good player, top 15 all time, but nowhere near the goat status

correct (but this one is kind of out there, like you could say the same about alfa's 2v1 or boasters call to push when chronicle couldn't plant)
partially correct, he had a bit of a rough kickoff ngl, and Leo was still phenomenal in Split 1

He was the best on his team in 2022 as well but there is no way you are a living breathing functioning human that watched fnatic last year if you think Derke was their best player, especially for all of 2024. He was absolutely dreadful in kickoff and pretty bad in stage 1 as well. For the rest of the year he was really good though, Chronicle outperformed him slightly but he was clearly fnatics 2nd best player after stage 1, and at best the 3rd arguably even 4th through the entire year(Leo and Chron were way better, Alfa arguably slightly better).

respectfully disagree, Derke makes his teams much better

he has a very fluid playstyle(can OP, very good entry, selfless, makes a lot of space)

he's very underrated, should be rated much higher in my opinion

once again, if u put any of the top 10 duelist players on those teams they are just as good
they could win just as much in 2023 with like cryocells (no hate to cryo but hes not in the goat convo)

derke is the goat because it is derke doing these things, not cryo, not miniboo, not zekken, not any other duelist you can put in his place. derke is doing them, and because he’s been doing this consistently, it is derke who we are calling the GOAT

you also just don’t know if other duelists would perform in the positions derke is in lmao; sure, any duelist could have that kind of success if they play like derke, i could put trickaim in his place and if he fried for 4 years we would be calling him the goat, but he could also shit the bed and his teams would get nowhere

derke is the goat because it’s derke doing goat things, it’s not that hard to understand
