d3ffo had physical and mental issue, latter of which could've been easily solved by Gambit if they weren't shut down.
If you had seen Gambit in other esports, you would have known that they used to get the best out of their players and it was no coincidence or luck, just pure hard work. Its not just an Engh thing that his teams scrim for hours, he incorporated that from Gambit, something that even GOAT IGL like Saadhak thinks is special in all ways. Also Gambit's CS academy team literally had multiple top 5 players in the world.
If you had watched d3ffo in Gambit, he was literally used as a bait all the time, he had elite space taking capabilities and then Chronicle, nAts and Sheydos used to clean the house, following the path that he had created.
Gambit didn't even fall off, they got super unlucky against Fnatic and lost a game to the best team of that time, FPX in multiple OTs. It was already over when they became M3C and were no longer under Gambit's umbrella.
I literally said that Gambit was their secret of success. Obviously not completely coz every player they had, had that spark to pull off crazy plays. But Gambit utilized it perfectly.
If that infamous Gambit Academy roster had been announced, I can definitely tell you they would made huge waves within the current circuit. Its just unfortunate, truly.
What you are trying to say is that Valorant has too many constraints, but that's what scrims and practice are for. If you remember, Gambit were literally famous for practicing the same exec for hours. Its literally just them preparing for 1 round by running the same thing again and again in 10-20 prac rounds.
Riot keeps changing things before the tournaments, maybe that's why we see so much bullshit from all these teams but I think all teams aspires to play at their optimum these days unlike Gambit who starved for perfection.
Its not surprising that teams like Vitality exists, they know even if Riots dumb changes before the tournaments kill their chances at some point in the game, these super proven and cracked aimers will be able to bail them out. Everyone's trying to battle randomness, I get what you're saying too
I think this kind of dynasty can only happen under several factors: relegation, having an well-established tier 2 and (maybe) tier 3 is very important for a real threat to tier 1 players.
A well-structured Valorant scene would result in a group of people (5 players + coaching staff) dominating the game and studying it at an academic level, just like Astralis did when they won four CS:GO Majors. On top of that, having a team of psychologists and orgs providing better quality of life for players—such as housing, a manager to handle off-game issues, and the presence of family, friends, and a partner in their lives—would make a huge difference.
