Dead lifts are a staple for a reason.

you may as well have posted "I have bad form in the gym and don't know how to do a deadlift"

Doesn't matter what style it is, if you're not doing them you are missing out on one of greatest full body movements.

Don't be afraid of the hinge.

Most people are stronger in the anterior but lack posterior chain strength, this makes you imbalanced and actually MORE susceptible to injuries.

You maybe stepped up to a barbell once and tried a conventional deadlift and found you didn't have the mobility or ability to nail it down, instead of regressing the movement, you gave up on it. TSK Tsk tsk. Pure weakness.

my form is good and everything. I just really dislike them as a workout movement. it’s good for your cns but there’s other accessories that I can do that will be better for building muscle

any exercise is great for building muscle if it's done with intent, but hey do you, you know your body better than anyone else.

Yeah I dont think anyone actually does deadlifts besides like power lifters. I'm not trying to fuck up my spine and be crippled for life.

Pure ignorance lol

Do it with proper form and lift within your means their will be no problems. Can't with you childrens.

It's not really required, there are alternative lifts. Whether your goals are hypertrophy or strength you can achieve it without accidentally blowing your back out one day.

Not required sure, but if you can't do it, you can still regress the movement to something more simple, you're going to tell me that hinging in not important when it's the very mechanism your hips were meant to do? Again, read the part where I said "lifting with good form" There is not really a chance of hurting your back if you're doing it well, the problem is you don't, and you're too scared to try. You're more likely to get a spinal/back injury from slouching in your gaming chair. lol

okay, i won't force you. I played sports and they upped my game, I guess if you don't have a reason to do them you don't need to, doesn't mean they're not incredibly useful and functional for regular peeps. Everyone should have a strong posterior chain, not having one is again, what leads to injuries more times than not. Have you tried it with light db's or a trap bar?? I'm off my soapbox.

Yeah I'm just a regular guy, never been an athlete. I've done them with db's trap bar and a regular bar. I never got injured, I just hate doing them afraid of getting fucked up. Prolly gonna start doing them again tho.

Nothing beats hitting a PR on a DL my favorite variation is the sumo. did 340 with no straps or belt hovering at 168lb. Great feeling.

it just doesn’t feel good for building muscles when I can do other accessories that will get the job done better :/

Hm, I dont know, I do think that at a certain point your spine takes over and your form gets horrible and yea a lot of pain, but ideally you dont wanna be repping that high of a weight, since as you said, you can push for more on a different machine that will help with the pain. If I do them, then id do maybe 2x6 of a lower weight that I really dont struggle with (just dont feel the pain basically) and then 2x2 or 1x2 of the actual high weight. Then something else targeting the same muscles and soon your high weight will be easy enough for next rep.

dm me, I'll give you a hint/tip right here rn tho.

The deadlift is the hip hinge movement, master the hinge and you master the deadlift.

If you drop something on the ground or need to pick something up from ground, don't pick it up with your back, pick it up with your hips and legs.
