the first game they lost was the masters finals bro, like how dominant do you have to be to win every challengers, qualify undefeated only losing 1 map in 2 full splits, win every game and ONLY LOSE in the finals, BTW until the finals they had only lost 3 maps, not to say that they had the best player at every position outside of sentinel cuz yay

i watched every single eg game in 2023. they were very good, top 10 all time, but not the same as fnc and loud. i would say teams like gambit in 2021 and optic in 2022 were better, maybe geng 2024

honestly maybe you’re right, i think eg disbanded just as they peaked & we didn’t get to see them do much but i remember their champs run and how insane they looked

by the end of the season they had the best fracture, ascent, and lotus itw and even made this janky ass fracture comp w sova that somehow fucking worked, so much so that people still try to use that shit

they remind me of current g2 but with a more defined star player, very good mid rounding at their peak and everyone on the roster had crazy clutch/pop-off potential

they disbanded way too soon, we could’ve had something special

If we had Loud 2022 without optic existing, or vice versa, I legitimately think both teams would end up with 2/3 if not all 3 trophies in that year, they were both held back by each other and that competition is what made their games so great

Looking back at 2022 Reyjkavik, yay did end up using Jett in 2/3 maps in the final, so although I think it would have been closer without Optic's Bind, i still think Optic would have won 1 tourney

They only got to the finals because they were already on playoffs and had to play against bad EMEA teams. They didn't have to play against Fnatic with their full roster and FPX, the actual EMEA winners. They were gifted the first round of playoffs because they played against the 4th best team of EMEA, a team that didn't qualify and only went to Iceland because fpx couldn't.
