To be clear, in Project A, shooting matters. You don't kill with abilities. Abilities create tactical opportunities to take the right shot. Characters have abilities that augment their gunplay, instead of fighting directly with their abilities.
abilities don't kill, you need to try hard to get killed by a raze nade or breach aftershock
chamber and jett ult are guns so they don't count
trips and turrets that passively watch flank for you are a dumb idea though
if you're getting naded and aftershocked at the same time and you die it's not because those abilities kill but because the enemies coordinated their abilities
