Im in the last 20 episodes of Wano, which I know gets really good, but I have to say almost every single post-time skip arc is too long and drawn out, and im not talking about the filler they put into episodes, im talking about the actual story and having way too many subplots in each arc. Every single arc post-time skip has been disappointing with a couple of really really good moments (middle of whole cake, yasuie in wano etc) but there is so much useless shit that it takes away from the series as a whole

everyone that says one piece is the best or even one of the better shows at world building is lying, they make a decent world out of 1000+ episodes when Made in Abyss, Heavenly Delusion, Dororo and I would say even Tokyo Ghoul did better in the first season alone

the series was so much better pre-time skip when they didnt have 5 different sub plots in each arc and each arc didn't need to be monstrously long

yeah idk, I liked god ussop and I like ussop most of the times, he's really frustrating when he needs someone to save him and start crying about how this is impossible and they should do this/that. still at the end of the day I love him.

Usopp frustrates me beyond any other straw hat because he has done absolutely nothing towards his dream when literally everyone else has done something or are actively seeking their dream. He is only a good character when he is misunderstood or trying to be someone else

yeah i mean, but I don't really watch for the villains. it's genuinely about the journey for me. seeing shirahoshi and the jinbei blood moment and luffy conquerors haki, i love all that, i love the stupid silly jokes, i love the weak villains, i like the subplots like how shirahoshi was hiding and shit. sure the villian is just a weak fuck but I didn't really care.

also Sanji was insufferable at fishman island and that lasted until a couple episodes ago for me, really hated that especially when his character was great before the time skip

He was probably my favourite character before the time skip, along with Bon Clay, then they fucking gutted him and removed all personality except for the middle of whole cake and post episode 1000

I can kind of understand it, people like villains that are unbeaten, although akainu is really underdeveloped as a character

I really like Kizaru tbh, cool devil fruit and a really interesting speech pattern, hope he gets developed further soon

even then, I would still say my favourite characters are robin/zoro/franky and pre-time skip sanji, cant really understand how people could say an admiral is better than those characters

Post time skip arcs are better because there are multiple moving parts to each arc that all come together in one complete full story with so many good elements and so many new side characters to enjoy

Wano was kinda rough but roof piece pays off for it, if you don’t like these kind of well drawn out stories and arcs then one piece is not for you it’s that simple

Also you probably haven’t listened too well if you think one piece’s world building is just “decent”, world building isn’t just about the physical world it’s about the relationships between the main forces of the world and how everything impacts each other

brother respectfully, one piece world building is at best decent, so many things are just thrown in and random connections are made that seem good but are so surface level and have so many issues with them, along with oda's obession with not letting people die and pulling shit out of the hat, like when multiple people in wano are supposed to die but just dont for no reason

I like long arcs, water 7 to enies lobby is perfect, I just dont like long arcs that dont need to be as long as they were like whole cake (specifically the end of whole cake)/dressrosa (specifically the start in the colloseum)/wano act 3 (the whole fucking thing so far)

Post-time skip does get a bit too chunky with stuff that didnt really need to be there, but i dont think its a massive problem outside of wano and maybe punk hazard. Also you legit know nothing at all about world buiding LOL my man said tokyo fucking goul has better world buiding than One Piece 💀💀💀 Skypea by itself clears every series you mentioned world building-wise and anyone with bare minimum understanding of writing will tell you that.

i appreciate skypea exactly because its a contained story that doesnt really have any deep connections with anything else. If you just give someone the skypea saga to watch they will most likely enjoy it more than something like marineford, even thou we all like marineford more.

Bro the One Piece world has a whole history, political, economic, hundreds of islands, eras, secrets, etc.... can keep going with racial social standing, underground crime, all that but yk.

How tf does Made in Abyss, Heavenly Delusion, Dororo and Tokyo Ghoul have the world building even on the same level as One Piece.

I agree with the pacing part (I am at the Ice Oni part of Wano and it is dragging hard) but saying the world building is bad is just hating at that point.

The show at its peaks is the best, at its worst is so shit which pisses me off

Praying on the remake to sement the show as the goat because it deserves it imo.

just because it has more elements doesnt mean that it is better

made in abyss has world building so good you feel like youre in the world with the characters

heavenly delusion does an incredible job at answering questions without giving you clear answers

dororo explores relationships with people who want and dont want them, creates a world around those relationships with is fantastic

tokyo ghoul is a bit of a stretch tbf should probably take that out

also yes 1015 is incredible gotta lock in for that

Imo One Piece does all of these (except dororo) but at a more deep and explored level with more to still be explored. I wont yap too much bcuz it is opinion and we disagree and tbf I love made in abyss and believe it has top 1% world building. May be a bit biased but I just believe One Piece does it better.

But I only insult the series because I know it has the potential to be the best, nope the remake captures that.
