Championship Points > LCQ

In all honesty, I feel like LCQ was a system where you had these teams making their way into a Champs spot that had been really inconsistent all year long. For example, KRU 2023. Won a whole total of 0 games the whole year and made their way into a Champs spot, then losing 2-0 to both their opponents.i am not trying to disregard their efforts but I feel like a team getting through championship points, would mean they would need somewhere around 10 points, in other words 10 games won, which feels a lot more deserved.
Like think of this. Team A. Had a good start of the year, did great until stage 2 but then they fumbled due to some unforeseen circumstances. I feel like them having those points and going through would really be helpful and meaningful than some team just coming with insane form without anything done all year and just make it to Champs due to those two weeks.

Tldr: Consistency>Peak

You can have your own opinion, this is just what I feel.

TLDR; kru will make champs regardless of the system, whether it’s the best or the worst in the world

Unfortunate that KRU somehow find a way to benefit from inconsistency but after the 0-9 year I have no fear of not qualifying they get it done

My narrative is that they did those changes in format just because KRÜ managed to qualify after the 0-9 and this year after having a horrible stage 2 but the 5-1 early results carried them to playoffs

True
That's why I have been saying
Curb your rankings
Why is kru not in top 4 when me you and your grandma all know they are making it

I agree, consistency should be rewarded but it was fucked this year in Americas having like 4 teams with no chance to make it to playoffs since they fumbled so hard at stage 1, anyways it should be a loot better next year now that the results from stage 1 won't matter in stage 2 to make playoffs, so everyone should be happy

I say make it double round robin
One split (all teams play all other) before Masters 2
One after
We get more valorant
Teams get more chances
I don't give a fuck what Riot gets
Everyone is happy

okay but lcq qualifies the team that is peaking at the time and makes good storylines
plus it's a tournament style event where there's actually a reward for being 1st
in 2024 the playoffs didn't matter as long as you made top 3 so grand final didnt even matter

i agree that consistency is what makes a better team overall
but i watch valorant for the content goddamnit
the 0-9 team going on a run and winning lcq was funny as fk

But you got a team like Sentinels who went top 4 from Champs points
Also counter argument
You only get points for coming first in tournaments if I am not wrong

im sorry i dont understand what you mean lol
you get points for beating teams during season, for placement in domestic playoffs, and for placement at international events'
also if sen didnt get top 3 they could still qual by lcq if they won?

Not anymore, they said they will be giving less points for 2nd and 3rd placements etc

if they rework the braindead points system from rn then sure but if not then lcq is way better

I'd rather a team that was bad all year but made a few changes and proved that they worked last minute make champs rather than a team who was pretty good for kickoff but then plummeted the rest of the year make champs in their worst form
