A lot of you are saying saya and xccurate are washed as if T1 weren't top half of apac last year with no carries. GE just need a decent season so they arent absolute dogshit for 3 years.
Xcurrate has played valorant for ONE year lmao he definitionally cannot be washed. He's old, yes, but you cant say washed after someone switches games.

Many of you are also saying t2 talent is the way to go... normally I'd agree if you are adding the talent to an established and accomplished roster, but cobbled together t2 teams rely heavily on the players being absolutely cracked like woot or riens etc... and that depends largely on the talent pool you are drawing from

If GE make a single event this year with this roster, feel free to come back and call me stupid. Just rmbr it makes you the idiot if they have another bottom feeder season

Would be a good point if ge was actually good at recruiting... they just need a year where they're actually in the mix

Edit: also i would 100% agree in cases like the brazilian scene... but those are cases where the incumbent players have not actually had any real success.

Didnt forget... That was the first year of franchising where there wasnt an established t2. Texture was 100% a known quantity. Monyet was also fighting for international slots on onic g. Possibly that's good scouting, but the way it seems you are defining tier 1, there were only like 20-30 t1 players in apac before that season... that leaves a much larger pool to be CONSIDERED t2. So if they were t2 talent then, it's only by technicality

yeah except they then proceeded to fuck their roles and somehow get almost no value out of one of the best apac players in monyet, and a top 3 player itw in texture. ffs they legit had texture on duelist in lockin and then put skrossi on duelist instead???? like who cares if their had 2 lucky teir 2 pickup if they fucked them over for a year

Idk why people don’t understand that they tried to keep texture on duelist but skrossi wasn’t good enough on supporting roles so you hv to try and understand that team will perform better with everyone on role they are comfortable with than putting someone better on one role and putting the other guy on role he can’t play at all

because he has Korean residency so they dont need to do visas and saya probably just wanted what he could get. the org doesnt need to waste resources relocating him because he already lives in seoul it makes alot of sense if you think abt it

Bro u know what's an avg eSports players career life it's like 5-6 years so basically even a year is big in that regard plus would u rather bet on a performing guy in t2 or a not performing guy in t1, yes definitely this year was bad from saya but teams have to look at everything objectively

Part of the reason thats the case is that the culture of esports isnt about development bc orgs have no money, not bc players can never bounce back. I agree that they need to look at everything objectively... and my point abt that is that if I'm ge, id rather at least have a pretty sure slot in playoffs and then maybe make a run then trust the scouting to pull off a miracle

Saya was in the GE tryouts for weeks both UdoTan and Yokam bested him in on duelist roles....
Xccurate doesn't want to play or was removed in early phase
BeYN was also till the 2nd last phase but again was bested by PPL on same role prolly kr1stal for Init role as
KellyS is the IGL
(They wanted sScary but things were not sorted b/w the Bleed management n him and the next best smoker was Papi in SEA)

Just because those players seem good in your eyes doesn't mean that the players that GE has right now are worse.

Papichulo has been performing in tier 2 for 3 years even when his team was not good.
Patrickwatson is a fresh young talent that juv3nile believes he can mold into one of the best duelist in pacific
KellyS might be unknown but considering he can IGL from the Duelist(Raze) role and still keep up with the rest of the teams says a lot.
Udotan, idrk much about the chinese tier 2 but considering that his team was the runner up i believe he can put up the numbers when needed in tier 1

Also, GE and Juv3nile have said this time and time again that they had over 90 players in trials. Surely coming out on top of those 90 players is a statement in itself.
