Yes i feel champions is not bigger enough to be most biggest val tournament, just look at worlds and TI hype man thats what you call biggest tournament of the game
sorry i watched worlds but i didnt understand shit lol ... btw what do u think champions is lacking? its bigger than masters surely so i dont get it
more hype, i mean it'll get hyped up more and more as we go through the years
chronicle's on his way to do that, all we need is for him to win one/two champs and rack up a couple masters
unpopular opinion, fnatic is stacked for a few years, yeah boaster cant aim, but he can out call everyone else with 4 beasts on his team, then we have sayonara who is a beast with what i have known, i just want chronicle to end up as the goat
in valorant, people think masters winners and champs winners are at the same level. But in LoL, worls winner >> MSI winner .... I was curious why is that the case
Only fraudmea people think that.
Champs is the most important tournament.
Faker brings in a lot of viewership, and rightfully so because he has 4 world championship wins
The champs winners are never the best team of that year (2022 is the only year where I'd disagree with this)
does the worlds winner win MSI as well ? i dont get it ... champs have the best teams from each region and winner among those teams, is the best team itw ? who else is better than the champs winner ?
i would assume because a lot of val players came from cs and thus they treat every intl tourney as a 'major'
worlds is longer than msi, has many more teams (from the top regions especially, more competitive), and the patch for it releases a month in advance so teams have time to cook. the difference between msi and champs is less like masters 2 and champs and more like masters 1 and champs. this will probably change next year since they are adding a small tournament before msi
winning MSI is the same level as winning a masters, if not slightly more impressive.
Worlds is just a bigger tourney with way more prestige and hype around it (because of its history) than Val's champs, hence why it feels more important than MSI.
Also I can barely remember who wins masters, but I will always remember who won champs each year.
yeah thats how it should be ... maybe with time, everyone will realise that champs is more important
it doesnt even matter that much, 16 team is still a normal sized tournament. maybe if it was 24+ it would feel different
oh is worlds like that ? interesting
hope we will get there someday ... valorant is still pretty new
idk i dont follow lol, i come from cs where majors feel different with the open circuit, big RMR groups and more teams (24) compared to other events (8 for blast, 16 for ESL/IEM)
Thats a good question but I think they are 2 main reason :
In Valorant, historically master have almost same format and mush more team than in Champions.
How to make Champions count mush more than masters is a really interesting question and doesn't have mush answer, beside making only a master with 4 team (Or 8 teams, but dividing every region into 2 subregion and qual one team per subregion SA-NA, EU-CISTR, SEA-EA, CN-TW) that would make everyone cries, so maybe the solution is by changing champions format and make it really epic, mush longer, a fucking marathon
i understand now...but riot wont/cant make champs longer bcoz it coincides with worlds ... honestly i dont see the problem with that but i get that some people might follow both esports
They can make it start earlier in 2026, they are really intresting format to do with 24 or 32 teams
the diversity of content creators aswell, tarik is the only one that peaks for valorant, while people like ibai, tolkin, caedrel peak in the 100K viewers per stream, as Caedrel gets 370K on his stream sometimes by just costreaming worlds
When MSI was created, Worlds was already a hyped and well established tournament. While in Val, Masters and Champions were created since the first competitive year.
Also, MSI had a shitty format until like 2-3 years ago, reducing its importance
