The downside to Vanguard

Just a shower thought: I'm realizing that Vanguard is the reason mods for VALORANT don't exist. A ton of really good games have great fanmade content to go with them, whether that be texture packs, altered menu UI, unique gamemodes for custom games, and even fanmade skins you can put in the files to replace other skins. None of this stuff exists in VALORANT, partially because the code is encrypted and partially because if you alter the code in any way there's the risk of getting banned.

I could be entirely wrong but this is the most logical reasoning I could come up with. What are your thoughts?

and I wondered why no one has ever made a raze movement map like TF2 has made for Demoman and soldier......

TF2 has a bunch of community stuff and I'm pretty sure CS and Fortnite also have hundreds of fanmade gamemodes and servers and such

all i know is that most of CIS scene started at 10v10 publics at cs 1.6 on dust 2 where the most skilled players would gather and stick together to form the strongest teams. and that's the case even for the younger pros. W0nderful (navi's sniper and the most recent major winner) has been banned in his home city, Odessa, for being too good and winning all competitions. kyosuke, a.k.a CEMEN_BAKIN, who is the next big thing, has revealed recently that he started playing CS at Prison Break and that he only moved to 5v5 cuz he was kicked from Simon Says due to not having a microphone. Electronic has been a KZ top 5 ladder before starting 5v5, there are plenty of examples like this all around the CIS scene

CIS players have always been heavy on the modding side of games. Definitely contributes to why Valorant isn't as popular in CIS countries. I swear every community server plugin in CS is made by a cracked 14 yr old russian/ukrainian kid tinkering with the game's files on his potato pc. CS2 doesn't even have any official modding support yet and people have managed to create minecraft in CS2. There are crazy mods that convert CSS into CSGO, CS 1.6 into Valorant, etc and all of these come from the CIS region.

Don't get me wrong, Vanguard is very very good at what it does. But ya gotta wish it didn't look at the cosmetics files of the game (I guess that could be heavily exploited but Riot can think of something else)

Me too :)
Especially when you can pick up other peoples' cosmetics, which isn't common in other games far as I'm aware

Riot is scared that the community will end up creating dust2 in valorant and expose riot's map designers for making shit ass maps.

But anyway, current valorant community is just comprised of people who are very new to gaming in general/ dont even play other games, doubt most of them even know stuff like this even exists in other games.

you get: less cheaters
