I've spammed switfplays but I am NOT gonna do the second part 😭, and even then I've never seen a dev in one.
It's kinda funny you mention that since my name can be interpreted as feminine so people think I'm an egirl when I don't talk, then I reveal I'm a grown ass man at the end of the game.
And yeah this buddy is cool but icl I really want to run the red glitchpop vandal with the riot buddy (just like Derke did)

you might've played with a couple unknowingly cause they have the option to hide the Riot part of their username i think or just use streamer mode at least. in all of my time playing i've only knowingly played with 1 during a comp match. though i couldnt possibly ask for a buddy cause i have some shame lol

I think asking for it basically kills your chances of getting it anyways. I try and be nice to my teammates regardless since it makes them play better so I'd hope I run in to one so I can get one eventually

Lots of Riot Devs hide their names while playing. If you read posts of people receiving a gun buddy after a Val game it's usually because they were nice to everyone without knowing there's a Rioter on the team AND without asking the rioter for a gun buddy.
Also I guess they just can't keep giving away Riot gun buddies to people just simply being non-toxic ingame, to upkeep the Rare status of the buddy.

I made a post a while back asking how people got it, and I'd say 90% of people who got it knew someone at Riot. I'm ngl I don't know a single person who's gotten one by meeting a dev in game (except for streamers who say they met one, or people who post ab it)
Yeah what you say is true, especially the part where you said they'll not give one away just for being 'non-toxic', which probably means I won't be getting one from an in game encounter any time soon 😭

I got mine while playing with a dev. Queued a 3 stack for unrated and got 2 riot employees in my game. My friend asked for one and we ended up getting a buddy each. That was ~2 years ago so Idk if they're still going around giving it to players

technically the VCT ones are the rarest at like 6-8 each? depending on the staff
but all the masters ones r purple and all the champion ones r gold which makes lock in the rarest

but Red on Red is super clean though tbf so I see where you're coming from. I sometimes like using defaultesc skins so I bought the ego vandal, and the buddy with the red variant looks super clean

now that you mention it I actually have no idea, I've finished every battlepass from episode 1 act 3 onwards so that just must add up enough, alongside the skins I haven't upgraded

damn, yours is pretty nice too, esp what you did to match the colours, I defo don't have the radianite to do that lol. I stopped buying phantoms skins since the champs 2024 bundle since I don't really use the phantom anymore. The only skin I want rn is the gaias vengeance vandal but I haven't had it in my store yet
