In all seriousness, I wish the science world would come up with a new explanation besides "mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell." Nobody even uses the word "powerhouse" anymore. I don't know wtf a powerhouse is. I've been told mitochondria is the "powerhouse of the cell" for decades, but I don't know wtf that means other than OK it provides power somehow. I guess that's all we need to know about mitochondria.

it's a random copypasta, of course people still use the word "powerhouse"

Example: "Germany is an industrial powerhouse"

mitochondria produces ATP(adenosine triphosphate) which is the "energy currency of the cell". the actual power comes from ATP and not from mitochondria. mitochondria PRODUCES ATP. due to ATP, processes like Glycolysis, link reaction, krebs cycle, electron transport and existence of amphibolic pathway happen.

no one says its the powerhouse of the cell its just a joke. but powerhouse was an old word for power plant which makes sense because its like a factory to produce atp or gtp

If you don't like the definition, then you can learn what the mitochondria actually do. Google is free you know, and understanding concepts nowadays is easier than ever through the use of AI such as chatgpt.
